Mellow Greetings.
Visiting Amsterdam & Maastricht later this month, & wandering what the current situation is in Maastricht at the moment - regards Coffeeshops & tourists? Heard that you have to be a local resident & have a 'weed pass' / citizenship card, otherwise you are not allowed in Coffeeshops there? Is this still the case? Is it that you are not allowed in at all, or they just can't serve you i.e. so you can go in with someone local? I can get stocked up first in the 'Dam but would be nice to just chill in the coffeeshops of Maastricht too, assuming there are some decent ones there, & even if we run out, you can get someone to go in & buy you some, but that takes half the enjoyment out of it - chatting with the budtenders, hanging out, & having a smoke, etc. I read another thread on here about nearby towns where it was still ok, but there seemed mixed opinion as to the quality too?
Anyway looking forward to the trip nonetheless but does seem a shame if this is still the policy. Cheers.

Re: Maastricht
Do not waste your time driving to Maastricht. Even if there are some really nice Shops, folks like us are not welcome there anymore... Kosbor, Easy Going, Black Widow, Maxcy's, Fantasia and so on... Pretty nice shops, but just for Netherlands residents. And Cool Running - oh god - the most comfortable coffeeshop I found so far with very, very good gear - also closed for foreigners...
Maastricht is a very, very nice city - you can also smoke your brought gear in a very, very nice environment - but just outside with the well-known danger!

Re: Maastricht
Thanks v much for your responses. That sucks. Oh well. I'm sure there's some nice bars where we can hang & drink good beer - if we're allowed in them that is! I'm sure this has all been covered before but seems v discriminatory to me. Anyway ...
I read in another thread from last year the same just wandered if things had changed. Anyone know of anywhere decent, nearby towns a bit more tolerant & happy to take our hard earned euros?
Thanks again.

Re: Maastricht
Very chilled greetings, as we've just got back from the Netherlands. I'll try & write some proper reviews up of places we visited, once i've got myself back together properly & organised, but for now i can say Maastricht was a really good place to visit. After the weekend in Amsterdam, which was great though, it was great to just get on a train & pretty much traverse the entire country & wind up somewhere quite different. The only downside was we didn't sample the coffeeshop culture down there, but there are some great bars, places to visit, & much quieter - less time spent tram & cyclist dodging & trying to figure out where the heck we were, & more time to just looking around.
Would recommend a visit, just get stocked up somewhere else first - we picked up some G13 Haze, Afghan Black, & Amnesia Haze in the Dam, the G13 for 10euros from Coffeeshop 96 nr our hotel up by the Vondelpark & Overtoom area, was my favourite out the 3. After weed sampled that we dropped in a cracking bar round the corner called Gollem's Proeflokaal & had a massive glass / bowl of top notch draft belgium beer, & munched on a plate of smoked fish! The week just went on from there like that really ...
Cheers. Chill well.
