There was a bar at Nieumarket beside the canal where I sat and had a pint last time. Don't know if it was smoke friendly, but it's a nice area to chill all the same, so HSB sounds good
Trinity at the edge of the RLD is a great bar to sit and smoke too.

greenhouse centrum is good too….

music sometimes is a bit too chill for me.

plus its a bit out of the main stream of people… so the people watching isn't always the best.

but those tables outside are awesome. was there for queens day in 2011 and sat there all afternoon getting destroyed…. was awesome.

green place is good sometimes too… but i find inside its usually dead.

Got to say the bulldog on leidesplein if you can get a seat outside. Perfect for wasting a couple of hours watching the world go by

As somebody mentioned Baba is good for people watching, if I remember correctly so are Resin and Rock-it (in the upstairs part). Not sure on their bud/hash, though.

The window at the front of Hill Street Blues used to be a favourite (near RLD). I think it's a boozer, now.
