The problem with Colorado and other cannabis legal states is: they don't have coffeeshops or a place where you relax, chill and smoke a doobie. Yeah Colorado seems like great pot destination but where are you gonna toke up? In the wilderness (Ok, well maybe that's cool), but where else? Hotel room, in a park?

The great thing about Amsterdam is that you get buy some awesome weed and then sit down and smoke in a chill relax setting. It has a more down-to-earth feel to it. I watched a news report where the reporter bought some weed in one of the shops and they seal the weed in a childproof nondescript bag and then send you on your way. Sh1t, how f*ckin' fun is that?

BondVillain, you make some good points and I agree...I can get plenty of weed to smoke at home, but the special thing about Amsterdam is the ability to smoke openly in a public establishment without fear or judgement. But remember it's only been legal in Colorado for just over a year. Right now American smokers are just too used to keeping everything hidden away and secret. I hope that after a few years there will be some cafes or coffeeshop type places that will come into existence where you can smoke your weed in a more social setting.

The only thing that may put a wrench in that is the general trend against smoking of any kind in public places in the US.

Maybe "vape" bars is the way to go?

I have family and friends that live here...we smoke in their houses...their backyards...kinda like we do at home...and YES...there IS a Cannabis Cup Sat, Sun and Mon...plenty of smoking to be done there...

I'd LOVE to be in Amsterdam, but, alas, I can only afford Denver for 420...November in Amsterdam is the priority...

besides...plenty of Amsterdam is here this weekend...if you know what I mean, you know what I mean...

but fuck… its a MUCH shorter flight, and the weed is probably WAYY better in denver.

It's kinda freeing to be able to have a raging "pot" party at home and not worry about being busted...people have drinking parties, right? ...bbq and bong hits...(except for the snow...lol...)

I guess as stoners some of us are unmotivated to do anything but smoke...so if there are no coffeeshops to hang in and I have to decide what to do on my own, I just won't go...lol...

Since high times was weed porn essentially, i didnt understand the purpose of the TIMING Of Amsterdam's cannabis cup over Thanksgiving weekend....A normal time for someone to go out of town...Not a 4/20 dead give away where do-gooders can intervene with an sovereign individual.
Now that im older and possible wiser.........As blasphemous as it may be....might have to do Denver turkey day.
