Can anyone reccommend any good books for some coffeeshop reading?

I enjoyed both Howard Marks' books Mr Nice and Dope Stories, and am looking for something similar.

I've also enjoyed million little pieces/my friend leonard by James Frey, Trainspotting/Porno by Irvine Welsh and the Beach by Alex Garland.

thanks

Not dope related, but I like anything by these two writers, both humour/travel:

Pete McCarthy http://tinyurl.com/2k2dor

Tony Hawks (not the skater) http://tinyurl.com/389msz

Carl Hiassen too.

Howard has written a new book about his time since prison, campaigning on behalf of cannabis, his shows etc.

Also 'Porno' its the follow-up to trainspotting, its a brilliant book all the old characters are back & part of it is even set in the dam, so you can see the places mentioned. Cant recommend the book enough its up there with trainspotting as his best work. Also the book covers are made to look like a cardboard box with a blow up sex doll looking out, so you get some funny shocked looks carrying it around

Senor nice is a great little read, especially if your welsh.

his wife wrote a book too, also a good little read and great trying to remember mr nice to see how everything interacts,
titled; mr nice and mrs marks.

Grass by phil sparrowhark is great to. He did a lot of deals with howard marks and shows a different side to howard marks of money grabbing and stufff.

Nol of WW fame has a book I think, plus there is another one thats slipped my mind about dutch CS's.

i suppose i have to mention anything by hunter s thompson will be great to read. whats a thread on literature and drugs without hunter s?

Tim Robbins work would make a great CS read, IMO.

That's true, mtb and it is such an informative book. The book is titled "The Dutch Experience, The inside story: 30 years of hash & grass coffeeshops" by Nol van Schaik; founder of 3 Willie Wortel's coffeeshops and the Global Hemp Museum in Haarlem. This is really an informative yet fun book. I couldnt put it down once I started reading it. Peace.

Snowblind is also excellent 'A brief career in the cocaine trade' (nothing to do with cannabis though, obviously)

Although I found it quite a hard read, maybe it's just me... I'm quite a strong reader but found the way it's written rather odd.

Similar to a book I read (I forget the author and name of book, well seeing it's a stoner's forum eh?) where the author never used quotation marks for character's speech, very confusing also... Sabbag never used that particular style of writing but I still found it confusing in places.

Probably just me, my eyes are old and grey

A great read though, very interesting.

cannabis culture by patrick matthews is a great read and covers a range of topics relating to the title matter, including an interesting chapter on the cannabis cup.

ed rosenthals big book of buds 1 or 2... number 3 is coming out soon

even abbie's good bud guide....

these books are strictly about marijuana and different strains... so if ur into that then these will be great...

i guess it depends on what kind of material u want to read.

i also enjoy reading soft secrets , free newspaper avail in amsterdam and other places about weed... and even some of my canna mags from home....

but again all of the reading material i mentioned is about marijuana
