Sort of Solo Trip Feb 2007

Post by pickapocket »

The alarm goes off at 4 am and I am up and running for the trip to the airport. For some reason I totally misjudged the travelling time from where I am to Birrimingham airport and so a 90 mile an hour drive up the M6 ensues  Anyways arrive just on time and the flight takes off on schedule.

I arrive at Schiphol and am bursting for a piss. It always hits me that i am in Amsterdam when i go to the urinals and see that embosed transfer of a fly sitting there for me to aim at, WTF is that about?? Surely a little bullseye would be better, who am I to question the Dutch when it comes to toilet hygiene, they are years ahead of us Brits!!

Get off at Central and i am busting for a smoke. Since it is only 8 am choices are limited, try Central CS but it looks a bit dark and dodgy so I head round the corner for Hunters. The music is shite and the girls behind the bar are a bit aloof (perhaps cos' its early?) but I go up the dealer and ask for something mid-menu, NYCD I think. " Sold out" is the response so I ask what he reccomends he ushers me towards the Amnesia Haze, opens the box and I am sold!! The smell is incredible!! Especially since I have not smelled green for at least 4 months. Unfortunatly so is the price, 14 Euros per gram!! I get it anyways, blaze and move on. Its OK but I already know I will get better weed for less on this trip.

After this its a short walk down to Greenhouse Effect, getting wet feet in the process as i cross by one of the guys washing down the streets
:x I have forgotton how much i like this place and pick up a gram of Greenhouse Special (OK from what I remember) and a half gram of Bio Haze which is on special offer. The Bio Haze is excellent from what I remember and a mental note is made to get more later. The vibe in GE is excellent, laid back hip hop on the stereo and later trips would see best of the Cure and other cool stuff being played, can't sell this place enough!!

By now it is still ealry and I head off to Bluebird. Reason being that I get kinda lost and this is near where I stayed last time!! I pick up 1.6 of Lavender and 0.5 of Temple Ball. Not a fucking Scooby about each of these as I am wrecked by now. Music is banging techno, not my personal choice for a mid-morning chill.

By now I have killed enough time to check in so its off to the Winston for a little disco nap. Walking into this place via Belushi's bar I instantly get the fear, the place looks like a cheesy, towny, chavy sort of bar. I pick up the room key, wondering if I am in one of the theme rooms. Lucks in and I am in "The Guest Room" Its basically done out like the spare room at your Grans House, flock wallpaper which changes on each wall. There are also some sinister looking family images cut into the wallpaper at various points, kinda odd!! Theres also an old style phone on the dresser which freaks me out a little, I don't muster up the courage to pick this up until about day 3, its ok, its only ornamental!!

As is to be expected when you smoke 3 grams of quality bud after a 3 month lay off, I oversleep. Waking up at 8pm I have some serious time to make up, shower, shite, shave and back out again. Only just out of the door some English guy stops me and asks where he can get some bud!! Bless, its mateys first time so I take him off to the Greenhouse effect and we both load up on a couple of grams of Bio Haze each.

Various shops are hit that night, and a fair few beers are necked. The highlight of the night being a falafel from some place near the Greenhouse mmmmmmmm I crash about 1 am happy in the knowledge that I've got 3 more nights of this ahead of me.

Writing this is giving me the yearning to go back again so I am going to cut this now and go on the BMI website to see what the price is for week after next. Will update ya on the next couple of days soon. It all gets a bit hazey after day 1 so the detail will be a bit lacking. peace out. :D
