i love reading all the cool and crazy stories of adventure in Amsterdam that are on here,...so i thought i'd share 1 of mine with you...only been the Dam once and i loved it...
went by myself....and stayed in hotel rooms more than hostels, not including Camping Zeeburg, and 1 of the hotels i stayed in was a bit sketchy(dodgy), it was a coffeeshop/hotel near centraal (cant remember name of it), anyway i was in a top floor room, i think about 5 floors up....there was three rooms/doors on the floor, all close together....anyway i went back to my room early evening to have a rest/smoke before going out again....as i opened the side door to hotel 1 of the "owners" friends followed me from the coffeeshop, i fumbled looking for my key and prompted him to open the locked door
he waited for me too....and i let him in first---he went up to top floor and i slowly followed thinking something was weird about this...so i got to my room, and started chopping up and heard voices in the room next door--thought nothing of it....sounded like 3 voices, kept chopping until the voices got excited -- ( they were speaking in a language which i have no idea of what it was, though mixed with english ) -- as though they were arguing.... i overheard what i thought was "passport blah blah blah "
a few times and "i couldn't find it" once....i stopped chopping and listened for awhile maybe 1-2 mins...then a fourth guy.... a real big heavy guy i could hear 3 floors down, comes up the stairs and just opens the door to their room without knocking, so...now theres 4 people in a tiny room the size of mine arguing in a miscellaneous language....then the "owner" comes up the stairs, how i know it's him i'll tell you in a second...opens their door with a slight knock beforehand....he starts talking with them in more english than the other language they were speaking...so i can understand a little more now..anyways he says something like " he's Australien" blah blah and then he relays the conversation i had with him when i was checking in the day before....Now i'm freaking out a little...being not 2 metres away from a bunch of people talking about me and my passport...so i've been real still for awhile now just listening...and thinking WTF...then they all stop talking at once.
The owner opens their door and knocks on mine....i'm like fuck this i don't want to answer the door....but i answer it anyway...owner walks into my room like he owns the joint (excuse the lame joke) and starts fiddling with the smoke detector....which i was just doing a minute ago looking for spy-like devices (LOL), he opens it up and im like "whats up" and he says "oh nothing nothing just making sure it's working" ...then he leaves my room, and goes back downstairs----and the argument in the room nextdoor starts up again...so now i'm thinking What the fuck IS going on here, and start looking around the room for surveillance cam's or anything.....so i'm creeping around like a ninja trying to be quiet because the walls are so thin...and lean over onto my bed, which is on the wall next to their room and make a bit of a creaking noise on the process, the room next door goes quiet suddenly ONCE AGAIN,...i reach up to the picture frame hanging above my bed (on the shared wall between rooms), thinking i'm going to find a spy-hole in the wall (like in the girls lockeroom or something) AND WHAT DO I FIND!!!!!

in a little baggy....now i'm thinking FUCK =,,,umm what do i do...and what i did was smoke a couple of cones from the mix i was chopping, and packed up my stuff and Jetted the fuck out of there...thinking, well now i can leave this shithole and i won't have lost out completely....
now you might think i was being paranoid, but to you i would say---better Safe than Sorry
