If you are a member of AAA they will exchange your money at the going rate, no fees added. They also offer travellers checks and cards at the going rate.
A little rebellion now and then is a good thing.

had my girl call AAA ealier....their rate was $1.4XX to a E.
So they aren't exactly giving it at the current exchange rate, but still better than most of the currency exchange places, and no other BS charges on top of that rate.

Just FYI, my bank (wells fargo) was at $1.38x today and the bank that has our house mortage (chase) was at $1.42x......for what its worth.

Sorry Maz, I should have said closer to the actual rate in my last post on this thread. Still nice to have their travellers checks in the currency of your choice.

I found that Wells Fargo offers the best rate. This was after checking with a dozen or so banks. I did my buy from them back in January when the rate was 1.29. If you can go to a main WF bank, you might be able to save the $6 "delivery fee" that was charged by my local branch. Note, it did take several days for them to get the Euros (I even specified the denominations in bills I wanted), so don't leave it to the last minute. Good luck.
