Purple Budz

Post by smoker_moby »

I have only tried a few purple buds in uk and didnt like them too much, thought itmight of just been crap weed, then bought some purple stuff from amsterdam coz wanted to see what itwas like, it was ok but not amazing. If it was me going to grow something i would try something different.

Everyone to their own though.

Cheers

Counting down the days to go only 20 !!!

since the purple effect is a genetic disorder, it makes sense its crap!

i had only ever tried it in the UK, till my visit back in 06 where i got 2g from grasshopper, omg it was horrible, nicer than any i got at home but horrible all the same, all it ever is, is full of branches!

tried growing purple #1 outdoors...very disappointing...pretty to look at....but that was all...no i think i'll leave the purple until there becomes a potent purple strain...then i'll try again although i have had some purple trainwreck...my buddy called it alien trainwreck and that had a great kick to it

i agree with everyone here, ive tried a couple of purps, but they have always been noticably substandard.

however... and its a big however..... if you are going to 'shift' a purple crop that you have grown, people will go mad for it. for some reason the 'novelty' of purple weed is not lost on the public. so for commercial reasons its worth it.

we once had one of our plants, of a batch of ten (KC.33) come out purple, and a real nice purple. apparantly this type of genetic throwback is quite common. when it came to 'recouperate the cost of growing', people went crazy for the purple stuff, despite it being exactly the same quality as the regular stuff. flew out the door.

had some purp back in 1989 frm Rastababy, and i must say it was a load of shit, it was that bad that when we sat on our balcony it was launched from there, never to be seen again.
So i myself don't rate it.

As he said alot of good quality buds coming from California Medical Faciluties have the strange purple colouring, heard espically good things about the grandaddy purps. But most of the purple in amsterdam is outdoor grown. Outdoor weed is not the same as the indoor mass produced hydro or the Haze type strains available widely in amsterdam, so it can make a nice change of pace to try a couple of outdoors.

Dont be put off your grow, if nothing else you'll gain some experiance of how the plant grows etc. Even the expert growers started somewhere. Purple plants are usually pretty durable and relatively easy to grow so makes a ideal choice for a novice grower. The buds you get are probably going to better than some of weeds available on the black market and most definately better quailty than soapbar!

Good luck man and get some pics up to show us how its getting on, although starting a plant this time of year is not a good idea man.

I had some outdoor purple skunk at Siberie a couple trips back. I liked the taste, but it wasn't the strongest. I added some pollen, that did the trick. By the way; who does these seeds, if that is what you're starting from.

yes i agree with everything everyone is saying in this thread.

as far as the Dam goes, most just look like lower class outdoor varations but in some coffeshops they have beautiful crystal packed soft buds of purp.

the most recent all purple strain i could remember from my last trip was the " purple kush" from BlueBird
looked exactly like this. all indica

so it can be found there if you probably look hard enough. ( hope to find some in Nov.)

ive tasted some very great purp from cali also
