Parliament to ban 'shrooms

Parliament to ban 'shrooms
27 March 2007

AMSTERDAM – A majority in Parliament wants a full ban on the sale of all hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Dried "magic mushrooms" are already banned under the narcotics act, but this is not the case for fresh mushrooms.

Christian democrats CDA, Liberals VVD, the Freedom Party PVV and the ChristenUnie want these banned now too.

A 17-year-old French girl died last week after jumping off a bridge in Amsterdam while under the influence of hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Ehhh... one person has to go and ruin it for the rest of us.

She was underage it sounds like too. Maybe they should adopt stricter laws than out right banning it. Such as punishing those very harshly that sell to minors.

A bridge in Amsterdam? Maybe I just haven't seen that bridge, but that sounds like a pretty difficult way to kill yourself.
