New coffeeshop in Amsterdam

Post by Lemming »

Well, new to me anyway.

OK, it's only a Bulldog and it's in a very obscure location out in Westpoort but it's still exciting to be able to add a new shop to the database rather than just marking shops as closed.

Bulldog Port 26

Well spotted Lemming. Right outside the dock gates, just like in my day, might visit that one. :D
What a long strange trip it is.

There is a large nightclub complex there a short distance from the Isolatorweg Metro stop, on Isolatorweg. It's called the Warehouse. Not sure how easy it is to get from the Warehouse to the Bulldog, though.

Well I hope to check it out in the near future. Some of those places have the good gear right near the docks, I'll let you know 8) .

It's a ridiculous location but it is a new coffeeshop and that's exciting to me. I can't remember when I last added a new coffeeshop in Amsterdam. Very occasionally I hear about shops I was missing in the provinces but not Amsterdam.

Talking of new ones outside Amsterdam, I got an email about one that's new to me in Apeldoorn the other day. See here: Power Flower.

i don't get the point of going to a shop thats dead.... might as well be in the states and smoke at home... lol

does that defeat the purpose?

I dunno.... when i'm there I want to be in public... i want a good vibe there... people to chat with etc.

i don't see the allure of going to a shop thats dead...

Just found another one!

Similar to the Bulldog one, this is another shop of suspect heritage in an obscure location:

People do live and work out there, it's to serve the dockers and seafarers who may not have the time or inclination to go into town. A lot of the container ships often have a 6 hr turnaround, and you might have to work. Believe me these places are lifesavers if you only got an hours lunch break to stock up. :D 8)
I think I will make it a mission to visit this and the other one, I was planning to get a hotel at Halfweg, (literally half way, between Dam and Harlem).
What a long strange trip it is.
