My better half is going back to Poland for a week in September and has booked me a trip to my favourite city as my birthday gift during the same period. What a gem she is

I've tried to rally the top gear cast to no avail, so I'm going on my own. First time staying at Voyagers too, apart from the Sunday night where there's no room available so I'll sort something elsewhere. Flying solo I'm gonna be able to hit all the cs' I haven't managed yet and will definitely be heading out west to find some some of the nice Morrocan hashes that are being mentioned on the forum Can finally visit Utopia and De Graal too! Roll on September.

Sorry FBN, I'm blaming being too baked last night for getting my dates wrong. It's 10th till 14th I'll edit the topic title after typing this. Apologies again good sir.

So, I've got Voyagers booked for the Saturday, Monday and Tuesday nights and I need to find somewhere for the Sunday. I'm tempted to stay further afoot, maybe Haarlem or maybe even further. Anyone got any suggestions? I can just ride the train back into Ams on the Monday.

I have been assured that one is allowed to break one's journey on the train. If this is the case, get a ticket to den Haag, and take a train that stops in Leiden and Haarlem, giving you the maximum amount of places to visit. I haven't been to Leiden, but by all reports it's very nice – as long as you remember that coffeeshops open at 5pm.

That could definitely work FOD! Maybe book the hotel in Haarlem and go out to Den Haag first, working my way back to Haarlem by early evening? Sound like a good plan? Thanks for your input mate, would be nice to share a Grinspoon with you one day

Haarlem for sure is worth a visit, but we also hear very nice things about Leiden even though we have never gone... Had a friend who used to live in Leiden for a few years and he almost could not shut up about how nice and cool a city it is. University city also, so lots of young people.

Cheers guys, can't wait to get back again. It never gets any less exciting!!

Hotel is now booked in Haarlem for Sunday. Think I'll go with Den Haag and Leiden beforehand then back for an evening Coffeeshop crawl in Haarlem. I looked at staying in Leiden, and if it was 10 years ago I probably would have for the nightlife, but ive never really been much of a drinker and never drink at all when in 'Dam, plus my pub/club days are long gone so I'd rather an evening in Haarlem.

Anyone have any experiences of the cs' in Den Haag or Leiden? FOD mentioned about the coffee shops not opening in Leiden till 5pm so will prepare accordingly for that!
