Secondly, sorry Macky but gotta disagree Boerejongnes block hashes shit all over a good bit of the competition, including that trans-Himalayan (only hash I ever bought that busted my screen rather than deliver me rosin when pressed, ABSOLUTE SHIT!). Opinions, opinions, opinions, but I'd wager a few people would agree with me on this one - though Kadinsky is a solid hash-spot all things said.

With regard to the trolls I try to bite my tongue, and I'm not averse to newcomers, but some people post a A LOT of bullshit, and I've seen that you Lemming have even gone through the efforts (at times) of removing the accounts of some of the more obvious ones (or at least it appeared that way). I'll try to hold my tongue better in the future but my patience is thin for those who use the "dumb-advice-poster-query" scenario (among other tactics), because it's a staple in the troll's arsenal of pathetic tactics (I've hung around enough internet-forums to recognize bs when I see it).

Just wanted to give a big shout out to the awesome people at Amsterdam Genetics for the hospitality they showed today. Really class act, all the people making things happen behind the scenes there.

People can call it sucking off, buying loyalty (but all those who already mentioned smart business, customer-savvyness and appeasing your audience are clearly intelligent enough to grasp the concepts I'm alluding to here) or whatever hater-esque other bullshit they wanna spew out of their cock-laden mouths but as many of y'all know, I don't typically source my stuff from CS's these days, but I'll still maintain that Boerejongens is and consistently has been top-dawg when it comes to offering a quality product, at an honest price (at least compared to their direct competitors, i.e. other CS's).

Furthermore, whatever they were generous enough to give us for tasting wouldn't be worth a shit to me if it weren't genuinely quality product (would have been given or way or binned by now if that was the case). I'm happy with what I experienced, and can't wait to report back shortly with some reviews on what I got to try, once I've really gotten into tasting; but suffice to say thus far the flavors/potency/price are definitely up to scratch...

Keep doing you Amsterdam Genentics, and fuck all the haters, they're mad because you guys are doing big things now!

Four invitees, all registered to this forum but Marok and I were the only more regular posters. The other two are registered but very new/infrequent posters, their handles escape me perhaps if they're lurking this thread or of professor harvest could help refresh my memory someone could chime in...

Friday I bought the White Choco block and the Girl Scout Cookies block/hash, both are really nice.
I also bought the 24k Tangie Kush ice, which was almost impossible to work with, as it was so soft, but it was very potent and the flavor was very good too.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.

I will update as I get deeper into my stashes, but I just wanted to provide some honest and transparent feedback on what I've sampled so far!

We were given three different block-hashes to sample:

I.) AK Choco Block- 8 euros per gram.

Appearance: extremely dark and fudgy, oily. Once handed to me I was unable to neatly remove the whole block from the bag (without leaving a good chunk behind, in the form of "skid-marks" on the bag's wall)

Nose: at first sniff yesterday, was the most distinct of the bunch. Not too similar to the smell profile I typically encounter from blocks, more creamy and seductive, starkly reminiscent of older batches of 2e Kamer's Noor 2000, like high-grade classic Maroc. But also a deep rich fruity (maybe subtle blood orange aroma) with a tinge of dark chocolate. When smelled this morning I picked up a whole new complex bouquet, that whilst still "creamy" reminded almost of a Nepalese, but less "sharp" and smoother. Sexy, sexy bouquet, I must say!!!

Flavor: was as described for flavor in generic terms, smooth, creamy and vaguely fruity and chocolaty, decent transfer from bag-smell, of course in my experience even my favorite hashes don't flavor-transfer like weed can, nonetheless, that's what rosin-tech is for! So of course I will report back on flavor profile for the rosin'd product as well, which I have high hopes for!

Effect/Potency - is certainly there, a nice sedating indica buzz. Potent without a doubt, but the high is still "smooth" as is everything else about this hash IMO.

Value: well I'm honestly wondering if they mixed this and the most expensive batch up, because this one has the most exotic smell, and is the oiliest, but nonetheless if it is indeed 8 per gram then fuck me sideways, this is up to scratch with what I'd pay outside of the coffeeshops, even the prices pretty much matches up, so yeah bangin' value for sure.



II.) Blue Dream Block - 9 euros per gram

Appearance: the lightest of the bunch. Still a little oil content, as it picks up some "sheen" from being pressed against plastic, and also leaves small skid-marks, but certainly the most "stable" of the 3 as well. Looks the most like their block's which I've procured in the past.

Nose: if I'm honest this has the typical "block" hash smell to it for the most part, for me reminiscent of bubble-hash smell, floral, and weedy so to speak.

Flavor: follows through on the nose but in a good way, peppery, spicy and floral.

Effect/Potency: definitely the sharpest, and most sativa-esque high of the three, makes it self the most known from the onset. Verdict, no slouch here, sativa-powered punch packing!

Value: as with most of their blocks a solid value for money especially with the highly palatable taste profile, and soaring sativa buzz it packs. **will update this entry as well as I have not yet gotten around to rosining it!




III.) Kosher x Choco Block - 18 euros per gram

Appearance: somewhere in between the other two in terms of oilyness. It looks from first glance to be more of the stable nature like the BD Block, however as soon as it's handled it becomes as fudgy and unstable as the AK Choco and is an absolute bitch to coax out of the bag in one coherent piece. Certainly a bit darker than the BD block. Anyway this and the AK are ones to store in the fridge I think, for now I've got them wrapped in parchment paper inside their individual baggies, just to make things slightly more manageable.

Nose: this one also has a more generic "block hash" smell to it, but certainly when put head-to-head with the BD Block, the subtle differences, begin to not-so-subtly manifest themselves. The Kosher is certainly less emphasis on the floral notes, and more emphasis on a deep, rich hint of chocolate, which is entirely absent from the BD Block.

Flavor: smoother than the BD Block, again more chocolaty-ness, not so much floral notes - but certainly they're still there as well. Rosin'd smell transfers over fully to taste, I pressed up on-site, so some of the other participants go to have a go on the ole dab train as well, and they seemed to enjoy the refined product.

Effect/Potency: probably the most potent of the bunch rosin'd or not, although the effects come one a little slower and smoother than the BD block, certainly more stone than high, but well-balanced at the same time. Potent stuff sure.

Value: hmmm gotta be Dutch-direct on this one, if indeed the labels somehow got mixed up and the AK was the 18 euro one in actuality then it'd be something I'd consider for a nice splurge smoke, though 18 is still a bit high if I'm honest (not completely opposed to occasionally paying this for top-shelf hash, weed would never-ever pay that much). The AK was nice because it really has an exotic bouquet that I haven't quite encountered in CS's before so I'm really gonna have to give that one some more tasting. Back to the actual piece of hash that I'm reviewing in this sub-entry, I would say it's certainly still the most potent from what I've sampled thus far, but maybe the price-tag could be tweaked; or perhaps it's just beneficial to sell the first two grades because they're much better value for the money (in my humble opinion). At the same time I could see seasoned, in-the-know hash heads, with a few extra bucks to spare making the leap for a higher grade product.

All in all I'm quite impressed with what I've sampled thus far, especially the value for money on the AK Choco & BD Blocks, I'll try to hold final judgement on the Kosher until I really have sampled it more.

In reflection of a good point OneHighMoFo raised during his recent visit: "you need to sample a few grams of a given batch of a strain/variety, to get a feel for the quality of said product". And that resonates with me now, so I do wanna try different consumption methods, most notably rosining the other two. But I do have to say the folks at Amsterdam Genetics were nice enough to leave us with some very generously sized loud-packs for tasting, so I think I'll be able to update with some new feedback as I smoke my way through the stash in the coming week!

But anyway 100% if that AK Choco is indeed what it was labeled as, I'll be back for more of that because as stated that's some exotic-smelling funk, that's potent, with a bangin' pricetag!

Some fine reviewing there Mr Nugs... Indeed the AK Choco Block sounds almost too good to be true, so whether that Block is going to be consistent with this review when us unchosen ones buy the retail version, that remains to be seen...

They were initially invited through similar selection through FB they did for another feedback, Q&A sampling thing. Other people on the forum were invited but as you can see there was a shortage of regular posters that were both ...errr ....a.) receptive to the idea; and b.) available/in town ya know made it difficult as many can't just come on short notice even if from the UK, where the majority are located...

Ahh, it was a two pronged attack!! ...I see!

It was kinda short notice for arranging a sampler... Personally, i'd arrange another tasting for, hmmm, i don't know.... Say, April? ...Maybe invite 10-20 forum users, preferably all from the 420 thread, for a closed shop mega-tasting? ...I'm sure that'll be an excellent way for them to get some amazing feedback!

Yeah I've actually now pressed all three into Rosin, so I'm headed to Batavia to give 'em proper sampling over a nice lekker Sunday Roast. The rosin pressings have already offered so big and unexpected revelations about the quality comparison between the three, will update after dinner! Happy Sunday stoners!!!
