FIRST month-long EuroTrip experience starting in Amsterdam!! 30 August 2016
Hiii Everyone! Coming from San Antonio, Texas by way of Chicago, Illinois -- woop, woop!
As written in my subject line, this will be my first trip traveling by plane/train/bus making stops throughout Europe and am extremely excited!!!
I'll be arriving solo on the 30th Aug in Amsterdam and meeting up with a group of friends for the first part of my trip. Though, would love to meet more friendly faces/make new friends!
I'll be in Amsterdam from 30 Aug - 2 Sept (but back at least two more times throughout my trip!) so interested in any pointers for Amsterdam (I feel I may fall in love with this city and never leave!), Dusseldorf, Munich (16-19th Sept Oktoberfest, yeAh!!), Berlin (tentative) and any other cities you think are a must to see visit while in Europe for a month.
Since my trip is so long, I am attempting to be as economical as possible while getting a full, awesome experience! So any/all pointers on where to get the best products/stays/travel at the lowest prices would be grand!
I have a friend letting me stay in Dusseldorf, Germany as a main hub (after my initial stay in Amsty) so will be traveling from there mostly.
Did I say I am Suuuuuuper Duper Exciiited - Cause I am!!! Feel free to respond here or pm me, love to hear from y'all!

Welcome to the forum.
You have been posted on the August and September Whos In Town pages. Scroll down to your month and click it.
You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
If you don't see yourself, click your refresh or reload button
Your browser sometimes loads pages from your local cache and
you don't get the latest update.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Set yourself up with your own T&T or Toke and Talk, where you pick the coffeeshop
(your favorite) and the date and time, I will post it and you wait for folks to
show up, if they do you'll have a T&T. If they don't you still get to enjoy your
favorite coffeeshop!
By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.
I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.
You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.
Any nice new menu pictures you can get will be much appreciated.
Always ask first, better told no than thrown out.
You might enjoy a little side trip to Haarlem.
Enjoy

If you're based in Düsseldorf, it only costs €9 to take the train to Eindhoven. I'd be tempted to do at least a day trip there.

Three words: WAY TO GO!!
That sounds like an awesome trip, we'll be glad to share some pointers on AMS (having also stayed there on a budget although it is a while ago).
For inspiration: Copenhagen man! We may be biased (wink wink), but here are a few good arguments:
Biggest open hash and weed market on the planet (although still not legal, it is more available @ Christiania than probably anywhere on the planet given the restrictions that are put on legal and semi-legal operations all over the globe). Some argue that it is the best import hash market on the planet also, we even heard several budtenders in AMS repeat this (Ingi being one of them, although she just said she heard many people say that).
The food! One of the best food scenes in Europe and arguably the world. Think anything from NOMA (four times world’s best, only beaten by El Bulli) to kick ass food trucks and everything in between.
Mrs. CC has a small addition here: Danish Girls!!!
Some of the guys are not that bad looking either if that is your thing, and people here in general are quite friendly and open minded. Also one of the largest per capita consumers of cannabis btw!
Museums, if you are in to that. The national museum, among several others, is free of charge. There are also world class art collections such as the nation museum of art and Louisiana for modern art (an impressive Picasso collection among other masters).
Architecture. A lot of that....
Bakken and Tivoli, the oldest and second oldest running amusement parks on the planet.
And many other things…
Downside is that it can be a little pricey, but if you know how to get around and can settle for less than the d’Angleterre (look it up for a laugh at crazy prices) you can get as much mileage for your money as in most EU capitals.
Hit us up for more detailed tips and tricks, we might start a thread on the forum…

You have the right attitude calling it your first month long trip. I would prioritize Berlin, and from there, Prague is a quick train ride. Prague is my second favorite city on earth.
Re: FIRST month-long EuroTrip experience starting in Amsterdam!! 30 August 2016
If you're posting on this forum, the obvious choice besides Amsterdam is Barcelona. MY favorite city on Earth. It's got beautiful beaches, people and architecture, good food, is more affordable than most other options - and for weed it is the new premier destination in Europe. Prices are far better than here in NL, you can get good stuff for as low as 4 euro per gram (admittedly that price was from friends, not clubs) if you know how/where to look...
Barcelona, Berlin and Amsterdam - my three favorite cities, maybe add Prague and Budapest to that and one more beachy/mediterranean location (somewhere in Italy, maybe Croatia) and you'll have yourself quite the trip on your hands!

Buh ACD, buh! Always with the obvious choices, Prague, Budapest, been there done that, too many nasty tourists, and a lot of other lame and unreliable arguments...
Can't really force myself to knock Barca as that is most likely our next summer destination....
oh, oh - I have one: they will still be building on that church next year and who wants to see anythinI envisioned by that drunkard anyways (hint hint, I do, I do)?! The food there is also quite weird, they have pigs that are not even kept in proper pens and have dirty black feet, them are they even cheeky enough to sell you when they are not even fresh but sometimes more than a year old, the cruel, cruel bastards!
Not really selling the whole don't go to Spain part that well, huh?

...and while we are at it: under no circumstances go to Tuscany, place is an ugly dump, with no culture and horrible food... Stay entirely away from the area around Lucca, that is just plain awful...
