March 2007 trip Californian perspective

Post by Blazer »

Its been a week since me and my girlfriend and her older sister and her husband were in Amsterdam. The sister and her husband are mmj users and kinda persnickety about their smoke but they traded their condo to a Dutch family for a week for the place we stayed so it wasn't too hard to tune out their complaining.

Me and my girlfriend were in Amsterdam last March but it was only over a weekend so we only got our feet wet. It was good to get out on the streets after the long plane ride and get the smells and sights of the canals.

This is a bridge on the way to the Green House in Waterlooplein.

Image

The first bud of the trip. This is 2 grams of Special Super Silver Haze which was kinda expensive at 14.40 a gram. I thought it tasted good and the high was pretty good but it went quick. Good taste but not over strong.

Image

Went to Bluebird next feeling pretty good from the SSSH. All the smoke was already bagged there and after looking at the catalog and hearing other people getting it, I got Blue Cheese. Musky blueberry taste but was way too fertilized. Burned my nose and wasted my lungs but didn't give the kind of a stone it looked like it could give. Needed more TLC.

Went back after the Bluebird to the Green House again and got a 13 E. gram of Nevilles Haze Nothing flashy but gave a good overall high. Image

Their persnickity thoughts; I'm trying to get them to post here so they say what they feel but if they don't I'll fill you in. All of us really dug walking around Amsterdam. If the weather was no good then an umbrella and a jacket was all that was needed and we were good. Getting stoned and walking seeing the local sights is a good time for me. Me and my girlfriend would rather be out than in the coffeeshops.

The place we stayed second from left. It had two bedrooms, a good kitchen and a bath and a half.

Image

We walked by this place a lot and always wondered what it looks like in the summer.

Image

We were walking to Barneys and all of a sudden there is a impromptu garden center set up overnight in a little square. Good prices.

Image

Next morning we got up and went to the Amnesia coffeeshop. Got a couple of grams of Trainwreck. I've had Trainwreck many many times and this was not Trainwreck. It slightly resembled Trainwreck in looks but it didn't have the taste or effect. It wasn't bad at all but it wasn't Trainwreck.

Image

That day we also went to the Abraxis and got some Cannelope Haze. I'd heard a lot about it and got a little over two grams for 25E. It was a typical type haze but the high didn't really reach out and get you. It just had a little something missing.

Image

We also got some Sour Diesel from Bushdocter. Well it was diesel like in taste but not one bit of sour about it and not too strong.

DAMN! i had a feeling that was the case after first hearing that there was Trainwreck in the dam. I've been lucky enough to get my hands on some of the cali mmj 'wreck and it is phenomenal!!

Went to the Grey area for some Cannelope Haze but it was sold out. The guy said to check back in a few hours so in the meantime we got some Kushage. Looked really good but it was so wet that we couldn't even get a joint going. WE cooked it in a pipe but it needed major drying and curing.

Image

We went to the Dampkring to check out their selections. Got two there. The first was NYCD. It was pretty rough looking and almost seemed like it was outdoor. It didn't have the NYCD taste or high but it was a okay stone.

Image

The second choice was Mako Haze. I thought this selection was good. Good spicy hazy taste and pretty nice quality high.

Image

We went back to the Grey Area and lo and behold the guy hadn't been jerking our chain. Got 2 grams of Cannelope Haze for 26 E. It was good but it wasn't great. Once again it was not cured well although it was better cured than the Kushage. The CH from the Abraxis was a bit better in taste and and curing most definitely. The highs were about the same.

When the clouds go away, then the sun comes out. Realizing that people have walked these same canals for hundreds of years makes it special.

Image

Went to the Tweede Kamer and getting some Rifman Leila and some King Hassan Supreme.

Image

The Rifman hash was really malleable and bubbled like crazy when lit. Good flowery taste and high. The King Hassan Supreme was also soft but had a spicy taste. It had a clear high that really got your senses going.

No matter how many bags you throw away at the coffeeshops, you still end up with a lot on the kitchen table

Image

Kushage was a hot strain when we were there. Here is the Kushage from the Dampkring. Good but not great high. Tasted like it had too much unflushed fertilizer.

Image

On to Barney's Lounge for some Honey Bee and Barney Rubble. I really liked the Honey Bee. I thought it had a up energetic high. My girlfriend didn't like it. She felt the high really put her on edge. The Barney Rubble was surprisingly mellow. For the expensive price, I would have thought there would have been more power. Bowls together of the HB and BR complemented each other. For two grams of HB and a gram of Barney, it set us back the equivilent of eighty dollars. Very steep for what you get.

Dutch Flowers had a good sativa called Acapulco Haze. Spicy haze taste and good head buzz.

Image

Super Silver Haze from 420 Cafe. Big price, nothing exceptional

Image

Ocean 12 Haze from Dampkring. Spicy not too strong but nice.
