Due to anxious residents and of course public safety. Strongly believe personally this will prevent future issues and shootings .
So his move here https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/v ... =3&t=33003 is even more pointless now.
Fingers crossed some other coffeeshops go down too before christmas business hopefully as again a loss of taxes might change goverment's view on phoney backdoor.
If not then future is gonna be still interesting !

Perhaps there's some particular issue with that shop.

I don't think the government is particularly worried about loss of taxes from coffeeshops – after all, the number is massively down from what it was not all that many years ago, and presumably most of those locations are now other businesses that are less embarrassing for the authorities. Also, the mayor of Amsterdam isn't responsible for national drug policy, so he couldn't change the backdoor policy if he wanted to.

True, a not so proper title so sorry for that but after all it's enough for a sensationally headline. Thank nobody I though pointed out here it's the job of the dutch goverment to handle that backdoor crap.
Though, democracy and all that aside, that mayor Van der Laan has at least some influence but again of course it's a delicate topic so he just doesn't care at all and risks nothing(other provinces still close down coffeeshops being shot at forever, also shown before here).
As pointed out before his "solution" regarding those shootings(see reopening) is at best a half-baked joke !
He's acting like he is doing something but acutally is doing nothing since the backdoor is the main problem so that's why he's a damn phoney as said before too just for the record again.
Also as pointed out before again in this section either goverment is supposed to close them down all step by step(obviously not ; would lead to a sort of chaos after all those years of having them around et cetera)or they're greedy for those taxes they tend to claim are not that high(and I agree with that as said before compared to other touristic stuff)but again it's too risky to admit that(double standards again)and this could be a reason they're still around(of course they get over the loss of already closed ones).
So again complicated.
We'll see what happens next. All that attention(shootings) will lead to something as discussed before, too. Again time will tell.
