* Batavia is the default nightcap venue. I, for one, expect to finish most evenings there. Utopia around opening time is often a good place to find us too.

@Lafe - probably still be in Ballonnetje at 14:00. My thought about Smoke Palace was mostly to get a passing photo, unless anyone wants to pop in. Hanging around in Ballonnetje for an hour or so in hope of gathering more stray cats sounds like a plan.


Various weather sites are still telling slightly different stories. General consensus seems to be a bit of everything: sun, cloud and occasional showers. Temperatures between about 11 and 15C (50-60F I think) throughout the week. In fact, averaging out all of the sites, I reckon you'd get the same forecast for every day from tomorrow, Monday 10th, through to Sunday 23rd. They all agree that today's high won't be reached again in the near future.

If you want to set up a meet at Voyagers earlier that's cool. You could lead a tram party from there if you like. Tram 9 from Centraal Station gets close. Unfortunately the old stop on Roetersstraat that was almost outside Ballonnetje no longer exists.

Shall I put that on the itinerary? 11am at Voyagers or something like that?

Tram 9 from Centraal. Get off at 'Artis' (zoo). Face in the direction that the tram just rattled off in and take first right, Plantage Kerklaan. That turns into Roetersstraat. You pass the Uni and other educational establishments. It's a nice part of town. Ballonnetje is on the right after crossing a couple of canals.

If you're coming to The Stud too then tram 14 from the same stop goes to Molukkenstraat, near The Stud. Another alternative is tram 7 from Weesperplein, which also goes to Molukkenstraat.

Cafe Koosje on the corner at P. Middenlan P. Kerklaan have a very nice sofa in the window. It's a great spot to sit and watch trams/people. Filmtheater Kriterion, just past Ballontje, is also a superior hangout. Cheapish drinks, WiFi, toasties, etc. One can make a nice day in the East with little effort.

Latest from Ballonnetje: "We will get some sandwiches, drinks and the rest and keep upstairs free for you all."

I told them there will probably be around 6 to 12 of us but that I really haven't the faintest idea (I might have mentioned flocks of felines ).

Last time I was there, upstairs was a nice mezzanine overlooking the rest of the shop. I think it's the smoking area now. Anyway, it sounds like it's our VIP area at 1 o'clock next Tuesday.

Haven't heard from Stud recently but assume we're still expected there at 3.

Anyway, if i do manage to drop it off, me and my camera will be doing our damnedest to make this epic trek Studwards... As i've said, i have never been in that part of the city, so it will all be new to me... Who else is walking? ...And, whoever you are, i hope you don't mind me stopping every 2 minutes to take pictures of everything!
