Yes! But I'll summarize for you.

The original idea was to meet at Ballonnetje and then attempt a long crawl around the east culminating at The Stud.

In reality the chances of us getting as far as The Stud weren't high but I'd been in correspondence with Stud's owner Silvio after he sent me a photo of the shop. I mentioned to him that we might be visiting and he said that we were very welcome and that he would have a little surprise for us.

When I mentioned this on chat with DeLekkersteNUGS16 and others there seemed to be some enthusiasm. The thinking being that if the owner is offering us some kind of VIP treatment then it's worth making an effort to get there.

A further complication is that the carnivores will be wanting to get to de Klos for their early dinner so we will only have a limited time. They can get tram 7 from near The Stud to the Leidseplein so it's easy but that still means we only have until about 4pm.

So, I'm thinking of abandoning the long crawl, at least for that day, and trying to get as many people as possible straight out to The Stud for a serious session. They've got a Volcano and a PC from which we can do live posts.

If it's a nice day I might walk back into town via various coffeeshops. Anyone not rushing off to de Klos would, of course, be welcome to join me.

It's still early days and this is only a suggestion. We could still do an east crawl on another day or on the way back from The Stud. We could consider this to be the far east crawl and do a near east crawl on another day.

---

I notice we haven't got any Utopia meets on the itinerary yet. How about meeting there after de Klos, say about 8pm on 19th?
Well a kind invitation of hospitality would be rude to not accept - what a lovely gesture from them and thanks for the summary.

I'd definitely be up for heading back from the Stud via some other shops. I'm a somewhat reluctant vegetarian these days too so although De Klos sounds like heaven. I'll most likely pass. Either day for that jaunt is fine by me; we'll be settling in on the Monday looking forward to the Batavia session - probably CS hunting and contact catching getting seriously stocked up in the afternoon early evening and heading over to the Batcave to eat and sesh the fuck out.

Tuesday looks like a good day for cycling and strain hunting round town before the Macksters B'day Bash - we'll probs start at the customary La Grotte for Breakfast and hit the shops at that side of town and through the spui ending up at Rookies/noon/Betty I think.

Wednesday looks great to me. 420's itinerary already looks like a safe bet, Nathans 420 crawl out east sounds like a plan - there's a couple more shops I want to try for first time: t'Keteltje, Supermarkt.

Friday will be a relaxing day around the centre if I'm heading home - hopefully I'll make it to the Bluebird that day. I have a list of things I'd like my little group to achieve - especially if J is with me as it's only his second trip and this lad is a smoking legend. He's a fucking mine-field of strain knowledge a super nice dude and I'm dying to get him involved

There's also other the shops I've never been to - namely Jonny, Funky Monkey and the ones Lem has already mentioned. If we make it to De Pijp at any point I think I'll favour Ibiza and Carmona over Katsu this time just for the change of scene and continuing the visiting new shops vibe.

You speak wisdom there Macky: East on 18th, west on 19th.

Gotta remind you again that I don't do mornings

Stud I'm thinking more like 2 or 3pm. Maybe stopping at Ballonnetje along the way ( - it's a waypoint if walking and tram change place if tramming). Then maybe crawling back towards Utopia via wherever.

Similarly there's no way I'll be at 137 at 11! I'll have to catch up with you at some later waypoint in west.

Like the live posting ,give people heads up hour or so where people going next .
Think bike would be wise. Post your T and T and let the chips lie :!:
I propose 7pm Utopia T and T on 18th before heading up to Batavia for b-bash
Roll on 420

I would much rather go to THE Stud c/s than de klos, as I have done de klos loads of times. THE Stud c/s never been and as we have an invite it will be rude not to go especially if goody/ ganhga bags.

:)

east one day west the next sounds like a good plan.

I suspect that we will have a few splinter groups coming and going all the time. So no worries.
Alles is goed.

I see a plan emerging here.

Tuesday 18th

(walk or tram 9 from Centraal to stop 'Artis') to
1pm Ballonnetje
(possible walk through Oosterpark via Smoke Palace or tram 14 from 'Artis' to 'Molukkenstraat') to
3pm The Stud
(possible walk via Best Friends, Warda 2, Trefpunt, Eastwood, Happy People and Nogal Wiedes or tram 14 'Molukkenstraat' to 'Dam') to
7pm Utopia
8pm Batavia for Macky's Birthday Bash

Unlikely we'll achieve all of this but we can at least try to be at the places with times against them and make the rest up as we go along. My main objective is to get as many pictures of coffeeshops as possible. It's not necessarily to spend time in all of these shops.

Wednesday 19th

11am Coffeeshop 137 for west crawl
(suggest maybe go via Catch 33, De Supermarkt, Funky Munkey and Johnny) to
4.20pm Cafe de Klos
7pm Utopia

How does that sound?

Was looking website Star bikes that Mike mentioned. It's located behind central station,if you take look at map on website. looks like easy ride to the east. Now I,m not big on biking in Dam but I think even I could handle this one.
The price is cheap ,good for afternoon crawl . Think it would be lot easier on are shanks pony,s :D
Look at it ,something to think about. Roll on 420

We're in danger of peaking early here. It's getting exciting and it's still months away :D .

No need. All sorted.

Sorry about that. Look forward to seeing you on the 19th.
I guess you're bound to miss something if you're only around for a short time.
We could look to swap over the east and west crawls but Spidergawd and Choppermike's meet has to be then because that's the crossover. Actually, Spider should get his act together and scrap leaving early  .

 Earlier Macky mentioned meets at 2-hour intervals as the sweetspot. I think this is a good idea. If we propose times for waypoints every 2 hours or so and then list places we hope to get to in between then that leaves some flexibility whilst still giving a chance for people to join a crawl part way. So, for instance, a Pijp crawl could go:

2pm Katsu
(crawl via Media, Roxy, Carmona, D&L, Ibiza)
4pm Yo-Yo

That way it doesn't matter if the crawl actually follows a different route, if some split off to get food or whatever. There's a chance for everyone to re-unite at the next waypoint.

Some years people have listed loads of shops at 20-minute intervals or whatever but finished up doing something completely different.

Of course this doesn't guarantee that it won't be chaos as usual but at least we stand a chance. Just a thought.

With this thought in mind it might be good to set a waypoint or two along the west crawl. After 11am at 137 maybe a specific shop at 1pm and another at 3pm or just one at 2pm.

Any suggestions?

Don't go swapping any plans around. Am looking at arriving a day earlier as only £17 to change outbound flight.
