Shrooming in Amsterdam

Post by tool175 »

So has anyone here ever partaken of any fungi while in the Dam. I'm considering it on my trip in April, just want some pointers on some good places to enjoy it. I'm not a novice by any means just looking for good enviorment to do it in.

From what I have read Concious Dreams is the place to go. I am also gonin in April and plan on checking them out.

Not sure if I am going to do them for the Mule or Porcupine Tree. Big decision.

It depends on what type of shrooms you go with imo. Concious Dreams on Warmoestraat is definitely a quality source for your purchase.

I'd opt for a nice open place (Vondelpark), close to your hotel to see how the effects come on. You may want to wait awhile before venturing into the RLD or really crowded places too. The Hawaiians are very intense and the Mexicans and Philosophers Stones less so.

Ask the whoever happens to be working at Concious Dreams and they'll hook you up proper.

Good Luck!

Just found this post and it reminded me of when i did some Thai mushrooms at new years, one of the funniest times of my life. There were three of us and we managed to lose a member of our group in the red light district, the worst thing was that he couldnt remember the name of the hotel and didnt really know how to get there(an hour and a half walk from centre on a dodgy road called Slotermerlaan). We were only in the red light for a wander then were looking forward to going back to the hotel to do the shrooms, me and Valo then went back to the hotel wondering what the fate of our friend was. I managed to leave him a voicemail of the hotel name but we weren't really expecting him to get back for hours which was a shame cause we were really up for the mushrooms but didn't want to start without him. Me and Valo then skinned up and piped up respectively and it wasn't more than fifteen minutes later when our friend managed to somehow find his way back to the hotel and came flying through the door with a bewildered smile on his face. He somehow got the bus back from a mad city he'd only just arrived in to a hotel he didnt know the name of. We then went on to gobble up the mushrooms and giggle for about seven hours, for which two hours passed as I skinned up one spliff. I wouldn't like to do them in public just jet cause I laugh for too long and would trip out too hard, although it would be nice to do them in the Vondelpark.

i would recommend to ANYONE interested in doing shrooms in amsterdam to go to the Vondel Park, i just did that this past saturday and had one of the best trips of my life. the shrooms in amsterdam are the best i've ever eaten anywhere, and thats a lot coming from me, considering i have been growing my own psychedelics for about 3 years now. absolutely incredible. the park is amazing, great things to get your visuals from. i would recommend the colombians or the thai mushrooms. they usually come in a package of 30 grams (wet), so this is about 3 grams dry. eating a whole package is a lot (that's what i did, and i shroomed REALLY hard, but had a good time). for someone less experienced, half a package is good of the colombians, and 2/3 of a package of thai shrooms is perfect (split 2 packages 3 ways).

anyway, go to Vondel Park, or whatever it's called. you can catch the 1, 2, and 5 trams from Centraal Station almost every 15 minutes during normal hours. do the shrooms in the late morning/early afternoon, so the sun is still out when you are coming down. my best trip ever. anyway, thats all i have to say. PEACE

shrooms dont kill people, rappers do

shrooms in the dam, well.......let me see. the first time it was mexicans, from consious dreams, fun shit!. the second it was trufells, again from consious dreams, they were funny as hell, went to the pathe to watch jackass the movie and nearly laughed myself to death and that was followed by what i call the schindelers list syndrome, everything drained of colour except this little girl with a red jacket on, then it was pure colour everywhere
then there was the final time. i'll set the scene, it is early november, my birthday, im there with my sister and brother-in-law and everything is going peachy so its time to get high......cue the smartshop man....so there we are, in a smartshop prousing the menu. as an experienced and mindful drug user i felt comfortable trying the strongest ones in the shop, hawaians that looked like english libertycaps. after a quick discussion with the vendor i decided to take the plunge and when back at the hostel followed his advice and munched them all down. well, within a couple of hours i was completely obliterated, to say it was intense is an understatment, i was off my nut!!
i can remember walkin down damrak in the pouring rain looking at my feet but all i could see was a cows tounge poking through the toe of each shoe flicking water up into my face, which was obviously just rain splashing me. as the trip was so intense it is difficult to actually remeber much about it but i fully intend to eat some more on my next visit in may 06!!!!!
remember kids, drugs dont kill, ignorance and stupidity kill. play sefa and responsible and show respect to the local dutch people.
blaze two and get me in the morning. PEACE!!! :D
here for a good time, not a long time. deviate, 2k6

I second the Hawaiian experience..... back in April 01 I got some dry from that little smart shop just down from Stones Cafe..... 3 of us set out on the trip and at different stages we all fled for the safety of our hotel room.

However it took a straight member of our party 2 hours to get me into the huge electronic crocodile (Taxi) that would take me home, guys with joker smiles, girls with flicking lizard tongues, candyfloss that was actually on fire and all the Dutch police looked like gay gastapo officers from the producers. My only advice is don't let someone take you on a tour of the RLD.... I had to concentrate intently on the amazingly complexly patterned floor.... looking into a kamer window was a certain recipe for hysterics. Oh and wear slip on shoes... you don't want to end up wrestling with snake like shoe laces if they come undone.

Follow this by massive soul searching and intrspective thoughts.....

Since I've stuck to philosophers stones, mexicans and liberty caps..... certainly fun and buzzy but without the trauma.

To each his own. I love the Hawaiians. Two doses and you are set. If it hadn't been for the Hawaiians I would never have seen the amount of the city I did (the couple I was with prefered to stay around the Rembrantplein.. no adventure in them). After my friends went to pass out for the night (at 9pm, who the hell passes out at 9?) I decided that I was not going to spend the bulk of my trip in my hotel room (I had ended up finishing my trips for the last few hours there on the prior 2 nights). I started out around the Flower Market and walked up to the RLD, toured that, headed over by central, then headed back down the west side of the centrum and then back home around 4 am. It was definately one of my best nights in the Dam that trip. When I tried the Philo-Stones all I wanted to do was sit in one spot and sleep. My body just doesn't process them properly. Shrug. The trick is, try um all, find what you like and stick with it.

wow! i am flying there on may25th and was planning to do my 1st ever mushie trip. my cuz's girlfriend wil be with me so i wont be solo, and my plan had also been to go Vondel Park for the trip (not comfy doing it in my 18bed dorm hostel).

I was thinking of either doing 20g of thai, for 1st trip, and if that works out, do 15g or more of ecuadorian 4-5days later.

Does that sound ok? if i do 20g, i got to give my friend 10g only on her 2nd trip tho :( unless concious dreams would sell them in smaller size? else i suppose we would have to bin the rest, or get tweo packers, and again bin the rest. although, theres always a chance she wont want to trip 2nd time since shes had mushie tea in uk, so its not as special to her, whilst im hyped about trying them! plus shes on a budget, whilst, im celbrating graduating (touchwood) from uni :)

p.s. we are staying right next to (2doors) concious dreams kokopelli :)

or maybe if we have to get them in 30g sizems and she wants same as me, we might do columbians for the 1st trip (15g each as someone recommended earlier in this thread) instead.

I would actually advise against the Van Gogh museum on shrooms. I did that in my last trip to the Dam (Equadorian) and it was too crowded with up-tight, pompus looking "art critics" looking down their nose at my tripping ass. Like my opinion was somehow worth less than theirs...

Or... maybe i was just really tweaked.

Well one possitive bit was a piece called "the cottage", couldve stared at that picture for days. And probably would have if i wasnt so paranoid about my surroundings.

Next time it'll be a relaxing day in the Vondel Park with some Mexican.

I'm really looking foward to shrooming in Amsterdam in August. I've only shroomed once before and I have no clue what kind they were. My friend bought an ounce of dried but they were all shaky and crushed up. They certainly did the trick tho. I ate an 1/8th throughout the night, slow at first. We went bowling so the visuals were nice, lol I wasnt seeing alligators tho. I was laughing my ass off tho and I really didnt mind staring at the cracks in the cement for like hours. hahaha. thats what I want. I have a lot of experience with different drugs but the least with psychedelics (which happen to be my favs).

I heard that they only sell fresh shrooms in the dam. is this true? If so, do you dry them out before you eat them or do you just start munchin. 30 grams of fresh shrooms which prolly doesnt taste very good seems like a lot. I plan on getting these hawaiian ones everyone is talking about. then staying at the hotel while they come on to make sure we arnt to tweaked out walking around the dam. oh yeah, I'll be with one other friend who has only taken them once (same ones as me).

Peyote - do you guys recommend this? I am really stoked about peyote. mmmmmm. what kinds would you recommend, or are their any warning anyone has about it?

i've never actually done real peyote...but from what i've heardit can get very very INTENSE and probably not suited for the novice tripper. Talk to the staff in one of the shops and they should be able to help you determine if this is something you want o partake in.
