While its only 30 mins by train to the Dam, you must go through Haarlem!! So this to me seems an ideal opportunity to vist those coffeeshops that consistantly get excellent reviews and avoid the crush that will be the Dam on Queens day.

Last minute trip to Zandvort and Haarlem
Having always stayed in the Dam on my previous trips, this time due to a lack of reasonably priced accomodation, no doubt Queens day does not help! I have found myself in a hotel room in Zandvort!! (One of the pitfalls of last minute bookings.)
