question about how much to pack into my stay

Post by cantona7 »

so yea if all goes well and i pass this course i will be going to Amsterdam for 5 days. Rents are funding the trip. airfare is free as my dad works for continental. Would be $75 if I took Northwest. Anyway my moms thinking 3 or 4 days and im hoping for 5. If It is 5 indeed how much would be reaonable to cram in? I have thought of staying in Haarlem and saving money but my mom has points at the airport Sheraton. My main base would be Amsterdam..but i would like to have a day trip to eindoven if thats possible..or den haag..even thought of having another look at Rotterdam. Can anyone help me come up with an ininery for 5 days? My last stay was like 7 or 8 so it was easier. Sorry if there are any spelling errors. Many hits from the roor tonight.

oh and my target departure dates are June 13th or 14th.

You should plan everything to the nth degree......
....... then bin it.

Plans don't mix well with weed!

As for packing, depends on the time of year...... completely.

So long as you have some fresh underwear and your cash you should be OK though!

A compass, rain jacket, good walking shoes. Rent a bike, visit some museums, visit Vondelpark.

Amsterdam is the perfect city for strolling. So, maybe if you mark some things you want to see on a map (coffeshops, museums, head shops) you can check them out if your'e in the area. Make it a treasure hunt.

On my second trip, I was only there for 3 days, so I only visited 2 new shops. I did go to Haarlem, which I would recommend if you haven't been there yet. Renting a bike is nice if you have a short stay, it makes it really easy to get around. I was a little hesitant at first, but it's very smooth and easy. Just keep your eyes open and watch out for mopeds.

I travel lite, I can take carry-on for a weekend or a month (except in winter) as long as I got clean undies.

Echo that...

Plans go right out the window once you've smoked yer first doob of the day... wandering around (seemingly without aim) takes up more of the day than you would think
