a non smoker does have the right to be in a non smoking area, but to be fair there are not many placces like this anywhere in the wonderful city of Amsterdam!

im just talkin tobacco here, i smoke weed in coffeeshops cos and i know its gonna be smokey but i mean in like bars and stuff where people are smoking cigarettes.

Kashimir expect to get their alcohol license back around August.
Hill street blues stayed with weed.
Hunters stayed with weed with a vodka bar (or something like that) across the street (somewhere).
Apparently the Rokerij at leidseplein still sell both.

I think we need a forum member "on-duty" to head over to Rokerij and check it out. That's was one of my fave smoke and drink spots.

No coffeeshop still sells alcohol! I was at the Rokerij on March 31, 2007 and they closed at midnight that night in order not to sell alcohol even in the early morning hours of April 1.

A colleague was over after that and 'apparently' they were....which isn't 'deffinately' by any means. As it happens, coffeeshop/bars that have multiple addresses to the same location can sell both aslong as the other parts of the building are suitably insured for use.

I bought Beer and Smoke at The Doors in May.

Yes, a couple of coffeeshops like the Bulldog at the Leidseplein and the Grasshopper near the RLD still sell both alcohol and have a license to sell weed due to the fact that they have separate rooms with different legal addresses.. But in neither of these places or at any other coffeeshop in the Netherlands, you can no longer buy marijuana and alcohol in the same room. And in Amsterdam, there is a strict rule of even bringing any alcohol into a licensed coffeeshop.

The Doors on Singel does still sell marijuana though no more alcohol but the Doors on the Spuistraat gave up it's license to sell marijuana on April 1, 2007, but remains a smoker friendly bar.

Listen mate, by colleague I meant here in town. They went to the rokerij here in town and on that day they were serving beer and weed. That day was after the 1st of April and later that day she came to work and we had a chat as to how the hell they were doin so. This doesn't mean they are, it means they apparently were....and apparently a couple of other places were doin a couple of other things too.

Same thing, more words.....you must be a politician. But thanks for explaining anyway, I didn't undertsand what it meant the first time I said it.

If you are saying that you bought marijuana and beer in the same room in a coffeeshop in May 2007, then you are making it up.

No coffeeshop in Amsterdam has sold any alcohol since April 1, 2007. Anybody that tells you differently is wrong. Any coffeeshop selling alcohol after April 1, 2007 would permanently lose it's license to ever sell marijuana again.
