If you are saying that you bought marijuana and beer in the same room in a coffeeshop in May 2007, then you are making it up.
OK, I dreamt it. I wasn't in there on May 21st this year and it didn't happen.

You my friend are an oracle of the highest order, your powers of Telepathy are 2nd only to the late great Tony Kahn.....

I'm so sorry to have sullied this thread with plain old lies and untruths.

On the other hand...... a law may have been broken...... but as you were sat at the table with me on that day then I'm sure you'd know...... wouldn't you?

PS. I have also bought weed in Stones Cafe on numerous occassions and they haven't had a weed license for years..... Now tell me I'm a liar.... go on....!

We are talking about sales of marijuana from the dealer in a licensed coffeeshops in Amsterdam. I'm sure you can buy marijuana/hash from many people in many different locations in Amsterdam that are not coffeeshops.

Shifty is as Shifty does.

OK, Let me spell this out clearly for you.

In The Doors in May I bought a Pint of Lager and a Gram of smoke from the same guy.

In Stones Cafe they have a guy (Who works for them) who will sell you weed..... I'm sure the actual transaction takes place in Stones Corner.... but I wasn't there and niether was the guy when he handed me the weed....

There are also laws against muggin, theft, rape, murder and all sorts of unsavoury goings on in The Netherlands... are you telling me just because there's a law that nobody breaks or even bends them?

Christ on a bike, the whole grow and supply opperation to coffeeshops is illegal..... fuck me though it still bleedin happens!

Just to point out, all shops mentioned now follow the law to the letter and will in no way participate in anything illegal.

See this is where living here and talkin about it on the internet doesn't work. :?

Quick question.

Would it be legal to give someone weed?

Say if I come into T'Nes for a pint and you "Gave" me a gram of Stella Blue.

I may comment on how the price of Gulpner had risen since my last visit but that would be by the by...... I suppose a "Tipping" system could also be used.

Just asking!

No, it would not be legal, but would be OK as it would be tolerated. No marijuana is legal in the Netherlands except some medical marijuana.

I stick with my response "No coffeeshop in Amsterdam has sold any alcohol since April 1, 2007. Anybody that tells you differently is wrong. Any coffeeshop selling alcohol after April 1, 2007 would permanently lose it's license to ever sell marijuana again."

Bars that sell alcohol are not subject to the overly strict rules and enforcement that coffeeshops have to abide by.

Yeah well, dunno, I have to see what the law is regarding my 5 grams personal while on the licensed premises. I think we're just not meant to be smokin it while on duty   ...but does that mean I'm breaking the law if I give it away for free. It's a total grey area I've looked at before.

Example: We aren't a coffeeshop anymore so on my way to work I buy 5 pre rolled joints to smoke AFTER my shift. During my shift 5 friends come in and none of them have any weed...yeah right!. Anyway, I give each of my 5 friends 1 joint each. After a nights drinking they pay their bill and each tip me 4 to 7 euros. Did a crime happen?. If the answer is no then what's stopping a 6th friend from coming in and giving me another 5 pre rolled joints for the 'end of my shift' because I gave all mine away for FREE. The same goes for up to 5 grams of weed. Profit related to actual sale would be hard to connect.

I'd need to get into the law books to find that out for sure, but what's Dutch for 'loophole'. :D

 Oh dear!

OK, what reason do I have to lie? Why would I make this up? Your statement is innacurate, plainly and simply.... I know for a fact.

I guess you must know best though.... after all, I forgot you were all seeing.
