Are you still calling me a liar about before?
I stick with my response "No coffeeshop in Amsterdam has sold any alcohol since April 1, 2007. Anybody that tells you differently is wrong. Any coffeeshop selling alcohol after April 1, 2007 would permanently lose it's license to ever sell marijuana again."

Bars that sell alcohol are not subject to the overly strict rules and enforcement that coffeeshops have to abide by.
 Oh dear!
OK, what reason do I have to lie? Why would I make this up? Your statement is innacurate, plainly and simply.... I know for a fact.
If you read my post, I'm talking about alcohol sales in coffeeshops. You have yet to prove to me yet that any sales of alcohol happened in coffeeshops after April 1, 2007. You only bring up the unlicensed sale of marijuana in a bar which I'm sure happens in many bars all over the world.

So you retract your statement "You're making it up"??????

All you're doing is playing semantics.

You're backtracking after calling me a liar.

Hope being clever is working out for you.

To be perfectly honest you're just a standard internet know it all...... good luck with that.

Thanks to everyone who's contributed info here. There's still a few questions outstanding so please keep posting. We should probably be careful about going beyond what shops are "officially" selling though. We don't want to get any more shops closed. This may have led to some misunderstandings above.

I'm particularly interested where the new Hunter's bar is and which way around Rick's and Wild Style have gone. I thought Rick's is now a coffeeshop and Wild Style a bar. Is it the other way around?

The new Hunters bar is next door to The Coin. Used to be....'sumfin or other....vodka bar' and is now Hunters vodka bar. Blue velvet 'apparently' is becoming a new greenhouse coffeeshop restaraunty type of thing. City Hall, Dreadrock, Freeworld, Bushdoctor Amstel, Rastababy all weed. Bulldog palace and Grasshopper 2 both sell both, though ya probably can't take alcohol into the coffeeshop part...but don't quote me on that. Het Oerwoud just gets strange looks when I try to say it....probably weed.

The cave

Post by skars »

The cave on Prinsengracht tolerates smoking in their bar. It's a heavy metal/rock club and it opens after 20:00 but stays open until about 0400.
