I would guess you bought a Vidalia Sweet onion - those are great and much better than the "regular" onions. They can be found here in the US as well....

Another good read chefGirl9,I always enjoy the trip reports most on here and your is no exception.While reading them I can almost imagine being there,keep up the good work! And if you can try to make it by trefpunt like islandgurl mentioned,real curious about their gear and plan to make it one of my stops this November when I finally get my chance at being there.

spirit was a favourite find of ours during our feb trip. not the smartest of places, but great for chilling out away from the masses and shooting some pool. i had heard about the good hash, but i was on some rifman hash i had bought earlier in the day. next time maybe.

Good morning again all....

I knew why the toilet had the 2 flushes, what I meant was I didn`t know why I found it so damn funny.

It is a vadilla onion. I know onions. My nick (ChefGirl) actually means I am a chef, and I am a girl. The oninons have a much deeper flavor here. The broccoli taste better too! My partner mentioned that modification of food is allowed here (I am not sure on that one), so I am fully expecting to go home and grow a third arm.

I am going to try to make it to Trefpunt. I too am curious about this place, its been getting a lot of good word on the forum latley.

Today we are supposed to go to Haarlem. It looks like another gloomy day, which is kind of a bummer. I still went out and took pics yesterday anyways.

Oh yeah, yesterday....Ok well, the morning started off with the usual stop at Pink Floyd. I am not sure if the budtender got snippy with me or not, its always hard to tell with the dutch. Not knowing dutch is a huge block for me. I wish I could understand what they are saying. I`ll have to break out the Rosetta Stone when I get home. I bought a gram of the Moonshine (35 e a g, yikes), because I felt my partner should at least smoke it once while we are here. We then left and found our little favorite headshop next to Blue Velvet (which is not open btw, under construction), and bought a new, bigger pipe.

Then back to the AH to load up on drinks, and to the apartment to drop it off. From here we decided to head down to Turtilla (which is closed on Mondays - Doh!), and when that didn`t work out, we continued on to the Dolphins. Fortunatly this time is was almost empty. I bought 2 grams of the White Dolphin (10 e a g), and a gram of the Royal Dolphin (10 e a g). We smoked a J of the white dolphin and it was really nice! Great flav!

After hanging out at the window seat, we decided to head back home. Stopping on the way at our favorite little bread shop we came home and ate some lunch. We headed out again, this time to the Rokerij on Singel. He bought 2 grams of some hash he said had a weird name (soul soles maybe...not to sure). My partner was tired from here, so I let him nap, and spent about an hour talking to my best friend back home online and made him hate me forever for being here without him. Then I decided to go out and take pictures.

So I headed out, snapping away. Well, I got lost. So lost, for a few minutes, I didn`t think I would be able to find my way back! But after wandering around for a bit, I eventually found something familiar, and made it home with no problem (whew!).

So I woke up my partner (who got an extra long nap due to me being lost!), and we headed out to Damrak. Here we bought some fries, and stood around watching all the people walking past. Then we headed across the way in hunt for Greenhouse. Well, we walked past it like, 4 or 5 times, before we finally saw it and went it. It was packed so I just bought 20 euro worth (2.5 g) of Tempal Ball, and one gram (14 euro) of Amnesia Haze.

Not wanting to walk to far (my feet were KILLING me at this point), we decided to drop into De Kuil. I am really diggin this place this trip, as it always is so empty and the people are pretty nice. The gear is pretty top knotch as well. My partner bought a gram of Pavarti (11 e a g) and a gram of Caramello (11 e a g). We sat at the bar, by the window, and listend to some american guy ramble on about how being here was his `mid-life crisis`. Nice place to be in crisis, I think.

So we headed to Wok to Walk for some dinner (back over by the greenhouse), and headed home. The Wok to Walk was fantastic, and there was this funny asian couple taking pictures of everything inside. We kind of just hung out at home the rest of the evening. We smoked the Amnesia Haze from the GH, and I have to say it is the best `tasting` smoke of the trip so far. Very fruity, almost like oranges.

Hopefully the crap weather will ease up on us soon. Haarlem here we come!

Did you notice if they did a deal of 5g of White Dolphin, or was it full whack? Mainly because I want to get 5g a few times

i really want to try out an apartment one time when i go, but i never end up booking one cause i always get this sketchy feeling before booking it...i bet it would help if i knew someone who stayed in one, or saw a good report on a certain apartment that was available...

Going to try to address a few things while killing some time here at the apartment....

cheese - www.citymundo.com I rented apartment 01511. There`s a ton, ranging from just single rooms, to nice big places and house boats. I have used them twice now, and have had a positive experience both times.

Prestoned - No I didn`t see any 5 gram specials on the white dolphin. In fact, it is all preweighed in bags that they just hand you. Funny thing - I got a reciept there actually stating what weed and hash I bought. Pretty funny.

Went into Barnies this morning. They were checking everyones ID`s. No matter what. A group of guys came in, 2 of them did not have their passports, they kicked the whole group out.

Going to go out for dinner....I`ll write up a full report soon!

Lol, a receipt for weed. Thats a bit of comedy. Shame about pre-bagged. I always prefer to see it in a tub or jar first. Its the best way imo. Thanks for the reply! Have a smokey day/night!

Wow...ok, man today was a busy day. Do to the pissy weather and my partner not wanting to get out of bed, we ended up not going to Haarlem today (hopefully tomorrow). So I headed out alone and hit up Barnies for the first time this trip.

The budtender asked me for my id, which I showed him. They were ID`ing everyone who came in. A group of 4 guys came in, and because one did not have his passport, they refused them service, and asked them to leave. I picked out 2 grams of the Honey Bee (13 e a g), and 2 grams of the G-13 (14 e a g). Finally! Someone had the G-13. Everywhere else I have asked has been out.

Anyways, Barnies was busy, but I still got a table. The budtender was probably the most friendly budtender I have come across thus far on the trip. I sat down and smoked a j of the Honey Bee (awesome smoke, great flavor and high), and then a joint of white widow. It was starting to rain, so I made a mad dash back to the apartment.

Really stumped on where to go, I took a quick look at the reviews section here, and saw that Prix d`Ami got some pretty good comments, so we took a stab at that. A quick walk there, and we were soon inside rocking out to Michael Jackson.

I bought 2 grams of Silver Haze (12.50 e a g) and a gram of Moonshine Iso (15 e a g), and we sat down to smoke away. While we were sitting there, a guy came up to us with a bunch of baggies, and said, `Here you guys go...We`ve got to go get on a plane`. It was about 5 grams of weed and a little nug of hash. Wow! What a score! Free weed! We thanked him and wished him a nice flight.

My partner bought 2 grams of Black Widow Haze (11 e a g) and 2 grams of the Fishermans Friend (7.50 e a g). If my report starts to get weird from here on out, its because we`ve loaded up the bong full of Fishermans Friend.

We made a quick stop in De Kuil to smoke again, and then off we went to Tertuilla. I`ll be dammed if we don`t get to this place when its actually open. Well, today we were in luck. They were opened.

A few things about this place....It was really weird because there were 3 children (7 and under) running around behind the bar. Not like there is anything wrong with the kids seeing what mom and grandma do...its just weird to run into small children in a coffeeshop.

We got some shakes, and I got a tomato, motz, and basil toasti. Thumbs up on both the toasti and the shakes! They were great. Here I bought 2.4 grams of Ketema for 12 euros.

We then headed over a few blocks to the other Rokerij out that way. It was pretty much empty and we took a seat in the back. We bought a gram of the NL5 Haze, and smoked it up. It was a nice uplifting high. We bounced out of there, and headed over to Amnesia.

I was actually kind of suprised, but Amnesia was a really chill place to hang out. I thought I had read some bad reviews of this place, but anyways... Here my partner bought a gram of M. Cream (no note of price, sorry) and 2 grams of HP-13. The HP was a really great smoke! Nice nice flavor.

We decided it was about time for dinner, so we headed to the Pancake Bakery (which is about a 4 minute walk from our front door, btw). My partner got a `plain` while I was a little more adventerous, and got the Greek. Man, this was a really awesome meal! I was completely stuffed, and for the 2 of us it was only 22 euro.

Feeling like we should walk off some of that food, we headed back to Damrak. I couldn`t resist going into the candy store, and buying candy without knowing what it was. (Some of it was really damn good too!) We made another quick stop in De Kuil, as we wanted to pick up some more Nevilles Haze, and then wok to walk (again...yes, we`re stoners). Now we`re back in for the night, to get an early nights sleep to get up and go to the zoo tomorrow (assuming the weather is good).
