ChefGirl in Amsterdam!
Where was the Black Widow? I want to try this next week. I saw on a previous menu that Katsu had it, but changes and so on occur. Well, the sun is FINALLY shining here on us in Amsterdam. I awoke to bright blue skys and slightly warmer weather. Horray! Its off to the zoo today and then off to Haarlem (my partner is actually up this morning! haha).
Prestoned - Yes, it was at Prix. Its a really great smoke. Nice high, and a great flavor.
Badfrog - Your message had me laughing! The only reason I didn`t buy any was because I bought 3 packs the day prior! But I`ll have to buy some today
We smoked a BUNCH of Fishermans Friend last night, and this morning I woke up feeling like I had been drugged! Strong stuff, puts me right to sleep. Good before bed smoke.
While we`re over by the Zoo, we`re going to try to stop into Bluebird and maybe a few others. Looking forward to this, as I have always loved Bluebird!

Today we went to the zoo!
Ok, so it was a beautiful day out in Amsterdam. The sun was shining and it was only about 70 or so degrees. We started out our walk to the zoo. As we were walking, we saw Greenhouse Centrum, and decided to stop in. It was a pretty chill place. Picked up a gram of Arjans Ultra Haze (not sure of the spelling there) for 12 e a g. We smoked that up, and it was a really great tasting smoke!
We continued on to the zoo, hitting up Bluebird. Two funny things happened while we were here (Oh, and thumbs up for the music, first G&R, then Bjork). First funny thing...I bought 1.7 grams of the NL 5 Haze (12.50), and found a small, immature seed in my bud. Then, as we were sitting at our table, my partner saw a guy have a whitie!! I was so upset I missed it. He said the guy just kinda slumped over. He was acting like a real idiot the whole time, so he deserved it anyways.
So we continued on to the zoo. I have to say, if you have never been to the zoo in Amsterdam, it is quite the treat. I was pretty amazed at just how close you can get to the animals. In the states, you are 100 feet away, and here, I could have touched a penguin if I wanted too! The aquarium is absolutly amazing as well....in this huge old building. It was unlike any I had ever seen.
We walked back to the apartment to drop off the camera gear and start uploading the pictures (it literally took me almost an hour to upload those few zoo pictures that I did). On the way, we stopped in Grey Area and bought a gram of Grey Berry and a gram of Bubble-lope (not sure of the prices, but we think 13 and 10 e a g).
We were pretty hungry so we went down to Damrak for a quick snack, and then dropped into Siberie. We picked up a gram of Lavender (10). Out of everything we have smoked, this is the first of them to actually taste like its name. It was really odd, like smoking a joint in a room where a lavender incense was burning. A really fantastic smoke, and for 10 euro, we`ll be back by there tomorrow to pick up more for sure! It really blew us away.
So we headed on back up towards the apartment, stopping in Barnies on the way, because it was completely empty. Side note - if you stop in Barnies in the evening, get the chocolate milkshake thingy. They are totally awesome. For gear we picked up a gram of Willie Nelson. Nice smooth flavor. `Dude...we`re smokin Willie Nelson!`
I also decided to pimp some of our stash (and a pic of all of it as of tonight) on the webpage after the zoo pics. Check it out!

Good morning again everyone!
Its getting harder and harder to remember the day befores events! I suppose that is a good thing thought
We started off our morning at Barnies. We figured this would be a good shop, as we were almost out of bud...again. We have all this hash, and no bud. So anyways, we went into Barnies, and I asked for a g of sage and a gram of NYCD. Yeah, well, no luck with either of those! They were out. So I opted for 2 grams of Sweet Tooth (10 e a g). We kind of intended on getting some food, but the girl took away our menu and never even asked us. No biggie though.
From here, we went and did some shopping at the good ol` AH (yes, I did get more stroopwaffels!), and then back to the apartment to drop off our things. By this time, we were pretty much starving, and about to eat our own arms. No fear though, as the Pancake Bakery is 2 minutes away!
I got the `Egyptian` and boy was it tasty! As before, another fine meal at the Bakery.
Talkng a quick walk, we found ourselves back in Siberie to get more lavender. Picking up 3 grams and some chocomel, we sat down and staired out the doors, watching the jillion tour boats go through the canal. From here, my partner and I decided to go seperate ways for about an hour so I could do some shopping. I found a few things and then spent WAY too much in the candy store. I`m such the stoner.
We met back up at De Kuil, and took our usual seat at the window. Here, I bought 2 grams of the Nepal (10 e a g). The budtender was this dude who had to be 70 yrs old, but a very cool guy! He even threw in a tiny bit extra for me. I have to say, with very few exceptions, I have run into some fantastic people at shops this trip.
Well, I was pretty tired after De Kuil, and opted to go back to the apartment for a nap. Our neighbors are putting up a wall in their back yard, and our nap turned into 2 hours of laying there listening to that. Not feeling very refreshed, we decided to just pick up some food and some bud, and stay in.
I walked about 3 minutes to this little sushi place I had seen prior in the week, Jo Sushi. It doesn`t have a huge selection, but I found some food I liked, and brought it home. While I went out for my sushi, my partner took a quick walk to Grey Area and picked up 3 grams of Grey Mist (8.50 e a g) and 2 grams of Sweet Haze (13.50 e a g). I got home way before he did, and inhaled my sushi. Man was it GOOD!
And well....You can probably guess how the rest of the night went...We just sat around, watching silly videos on the internet (oh and btw, if you have not seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5Ilq3kFxek get high as hell and then watch it. Then prepair to pee yourself laughing, because I almost did. We watched it at least 4 times) and smoking whatever we could.
Today will be a much more eventful day, as we`re starting off at the Albert Cyup Market, then the Van Gogh. I hope to hit up Katsu, and some other shops that way.

Oh, someone asked before....the 9 is how many years I have been cooking profesionally.
