I checked it out mate and it works out more expensive using that, than me making the hated trip up to Gatwick and catching a Easy Jet flight over, just means I will have to get up at the crack of dawn to make my way up to the airport. This is most probably the option I will have to go with.

My other option is to check the ferry's out and see if that works out ok and drive on over, but obviously that works out better if you have a group of you to break down the cost of the ferry and fuel between you all.

Tunnel and drive was cheap as fuck for me and a pal in the past. Ferrey’s suck tho. Maybe grab a cheap hotel by Gatwick?

Yeah mate, ferry's are not all that, used to do Harwich to the Hook of Holland in the old days and stop straight away at the coffeeshop just off the ferry(cant remember what that shop used to be called though) for a quick pick up and then on with my travels :D Happy Days.

Yeah i think i might get a hotel at Gatwick the night before and then jump on one of the 1st flights out the next morning, either way i will get it sorted out in the next day or two. Stroll on to Roll on 420 :D

Well i have sorted out all the travel arrangements again and have new flights booked from Gatwick which means i should be in town a few hours earlier than expected, so that is a plus point on the Flybe crash, it also means that i should be able to make AzLakers toke and talk :D down at De Kade later in the afternoon and not feel rushed.
I went with the overnight hotel at Gatwick as the flights early and i went with the National Express to get me to and from the airport which was £32.00 on a return trip :D , so the down side is the extra bit of money it has cost me :x , but i was able to get my money back from the original flight :D well happy i got it sorted out and 420 is back on

Looks like a good amount of people in town and there is plenty of toke and talks set up and also a few events going on over the days, so should be a good time in town, looking forward to saying hello/hi to some of you fellow 420 stoners  :D

Sounds like we might be able to get into 420 and maybe even get a table this year, if the panic chases the crowds away.

Well, over the last few days the shit has hit the fan here (Canada). Crazy ass people clearing the grocery shelves and the government advising against any international travel. You know it is getting bad in Canada when they cancel the hockey 😲😲 I might be able to get to Amsterdam but, getting back would be the bigger problem.
Things are certainly not lining up for our 420 celebration, in fact the odds and the gods seem to be against us.
Stay safe my friends.

Still planning on going to Amsterdam as long as the government or Delta doesn't cancel my trip. I need a vacation badly and some little virus isn't going to stop me from going. I'll take the usual precautions, like washing my hands and TRY to avoid touching my face.
If we're in a group setting, I'll smoke my own joints or bong to avoid passing it or catching it. Also I'll trying to stay away from people coughing or looks like their sick. But if I get ill, so be it, I'm not to going to die. More people die here in American every year from the flu (10.000) so I'll take my chances.
Sorry for the rant, but the media here is making people paranoid and I won't have anything to do with it. Just my two cents.

You know, that attitude is a huge part of the problem. What you are basically saying is, I'll be okay...fuck the old and the vulnerable and all those to whom this virus poses a significant risk. I'll be okay so fuck everybody else.

Every day, all over social media, you see the same argument everywhere: flu kills x amount of people per year and we are nowhere near that amount yet. Strains of influenza kill hundreds of thousands a year globally, despite us having vaccines and some immunity to those. We have no vaccines or immunity to this new virus, which is why it will kill many more.

This virus is thought to have been circulating since November. Since then, there are 162,000 confirmed cases and 6,500 deaths. Anybody with the most basic understanding of mathematics can see what's happening. The figures in Europe are increasing by about 20% per day. Think about that for a second, and the implications of those numbers. Italy had 3 confirmed cases on the 20th of February and now it's at over 21,000.

This virus has ENORMOUS potential. It seems to have a higher transfer rate than normal strains of flu, not only is it highly contagious but it seems to linger longer on surfaces than other viruses. More worrying is the fact that it seems to be transferring quite happily in warmer climates, which is when the transfer rate of viruses tends to slow down.

So we have a virus with a higher transfer rate than flu and with a mortality rate many times that of normal flu. It's hard to get a figure for the mortality rate as you're dividing confirmed cases by deaths, and that's not an accurate way to do it. I've seen mortality rates of 1 to 3.5% quoted, which is 10 to 35 times more deadly than flu. The likelihood is that many more people have it than we know about, either their symptoms are very mild or they are asymptomatic. That way, the mortality rate will come right down. Let's hope that is the case.

What happened in 1 Chinese city is now happening in hundreds of cities all over the world. China were able to control it because they are authoritarian government whose citizens do what the fuck they are told to do.

We all have to think about each other. Not just about how this virus may affect you, but how it may then affect someone with whom you come into contact.

This is not an attack on you and I am sorry if it reads like that. I have been following this since January and it is very frustrating that people are not giving this virus the respect it deserves.

Please stay safe and look after yourself, as well as those around you, because Wuhan is coming to a city near you, soon.
