Hello everyone...Well, this is our first post. We live in Orlando, Florida... in the USA (2 guys). In May we made our first trip to Amsterdam (4 days). It was a great trip, only leaving was a killer. To cheer ourselves up, we made plans to return (the night we got home).
Anyways...We just got our tickets (November 6th-14th). - no connection (direct from Orlando) - that was the WORST part of our last trip, the connection in Philly.
4 days - Hemp Hotel
5 days - Bulldog Hotel
This time we are REALLY looking forward to it, as the first time we went with friends from the states - and we'll be there twice as long this time.
We are hoping to get out and see more of the country this time, but still plan to return to Amsterdam for the night (since we are reserved already). Also, it would be cool to hang out with some locals. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be more than welcome...but mostly just wanted to say "High"!

Hello and welcome. Connecting flights can suck for sure. I generally fly out of Denver, so I know. I would definately recommend visiting more of the country or region for that matter. Harleem is very cool town with excellent coffeeshops. I'm a big fan of Belgium, both for the mellow, friendly people and top shelf bier. Enjoy the site.

High and welcome, smitt. Make sure you get to Haarlem this time, well worth the 6 euro round trip train ticket.

Its so easy to forget that AMS isnt an hour flight away for everyone.
I only had 2 connected flights. London>Tokyo>Australia and in reverse. Xmas in Australia and NYE in Tokyo.

They went ok, just a shame I didnt get any Japannese weed. I did see a graffiti tag of a ganja leaf and some funky writing underneath though

Welcome Smitt...
you should try getting to A'dam from a provincial Aussie city. inxs of 24 hours actual fly time, and no less than 3 connections each way. So it's more like 30 hours of fucking around.
Shit there's even the option to spend 23 hours straight, in the air, and that's only the SYD-LHR leg.
Is there another habitable country in the world that takes more flying hours to get to A'dam than Australia?

Take the train to Haarlem for the whole day, awesome town, great coffeeshops, sights, and people. Feels different than A'dam too. Just my two cents.
