LOL, Nice that you use a snobby phrase like "Rubbish" though.

Girls Aloud are just POP music.... what do you expect? Mozart......?

They're perfect pop at that, successful, marketable and good looking.... Christ man, live and let live, they've sold more records then you and I have.....

Oh, I'm sorry, what you meant was you don't like their music! Well why didn't you say so?

I would prefer more musical choice, but find most of them play only one or two sorts :(
However I have been in some shops where if you hang about for a while they change it. In one of the Rokkerijj shops they played classical, world, and reggaae all in the space of an hour :D
It would be nice if you could rely on finding a specific type of music in the c/s's
I too like everything from classical, folk, rock, indie, and pretty much everything inbetween except for modern POP (which I find shite and not condusive to chilling out).

yeah, i'm thinking i like the idea of a coffeeshop that is open to playing customers music/songs...from an mp3 player or even a cd, that'd be cool, and theres probably a few shops that would be down for that.

stew1974 wrote:Girls Aloud's target audience is 15 yr old girls forgive me, as a 33 yr old male "perfect pop" does not appeal to me. Maybe i am being ignorant but i thought the majority of coffeeshop frequenters would not be looking for "perfect pop" to listen to after a nice smoke. I listen to hundreds of bands and no do not expect Mozart but hey i would have preferred to listen to some nice classical music compared to "perfect pop". I understand different coffeeshops cater to varied musical tastes i.e. rock/indie/dance. I like all musical genres as long as it is quality. pop i do not consider any to be quality or a musical genre just catchy commercial crap that ages within a month or two. Yes i am probably wrong but do people really expect to go to or want to go to a c/s that is playing alicia keys beyonce girls aloud spice girls enrique englasias atomic kitten westlife etc. etc. Hell lets take over a c/s and play eurovision music, my that would go down a storm maybe we could call it aqua or something. If any body reads this am i so wrong, please post if what your looking for is some cheesy "perfect pop" to go with your quality smoke and make me look foolish.

That is as so.... and it's not my choice..... I merely pulled you on the use of the word "Rubbish".

I wonder if you'll miss this point too?

Perhaps "shit" is a more apt description of the perfect pop genre.

I feel this needs another thread in Off-Topic, but I disagree..... People use these descriptions :-

Shit, Rubbish, Crap to describe music they just don't like.

These bands/groups/singers sell millions of records.....

I happen to detest Hip Hop but I'm sure there'd be a backlash if I called it Shit Hop.

You see what I'm getting at?

I think its more an arguement of tasteful music vs. making music for the sake of making money.
