I pretty much only smoke light Moroccan hash when in Amsterdam because I find the taste of a light hash joint to be the king of flavah.
Weed I usually go for whatever is really tasty then strength next. A few years back the NYC Diesel was my fav for the grapefruit like taste. Buddah's sister was another super tasty fruity like weed that I couldn't get enough of one trip.
Next is strength I don't smoke the crystal clear from Katsu for the taste, I smoke it to feel like I've got a nest of bees on my forehead.

My aim is to try as many different kind of strains as possible that I have no experience with, and then keep enjoying the best ones.
I don't normally care about the taste (unless it's outright terrible, amateurish, fertilized shit), but strength and good value are important. It feels shitty to get ripped off.

The Best of Both Worlds
So call me a glutton . . . I like to find a very tasty herb or three and then add just enough "Crystal Clear" to "have the bees return to the hive en masse!"Max Flower wrote:. . .I don't smoke the crystal clear from Katsu for the taste, I smoke it to feel like I've got a nest of bees on my forehead.

De Gustibus Non Disputandum Est.
I smoke it for the high. I like weed that has a distinctive high. Lately I've been lucky enough to get good stuff like og kush, sour d, and trainwreck and they all have signature or unique highs. Going back to mids, the highs are just muddled mixes of effects.
I find that the top quality stuff has strength, flavor, and a unique high all in equal supply making them stand out as quality smokes.
If I have the luxury of choice then flavor/taste would be the next quality I would look for.
Strength would be last on my list if I had a choice. If a bud tastes good but isn't strong enough I could always smoke more or add some crystals.
