just thought I would announce my trip to the dam. the dates arent concrete yet as I am not sure if im staying 5 or 7 days. Know I want to leave around the 5th..bumbershoot doesn't end here in seattle till the 3rd and I gotta be here for that haha.

I will be in town with a friend from 9/1-9/9. We may be going to Belgium for a couple of days

Thank You, The person I'm going with wants to now go to Berlin for a couple of days? How far a train trip is it to Berlin?

I think it's about 7-8 hours.
I would recommend an overnite train.

Yes it is long. That is why I'd recommend a couchette. That's a second class bunk. You'll combine your accomdation with your travelling time. Kill two birds. Maybe, if your travelling alone; first class is better. Either way you might want to book these in advance as they can be overbooked. Your Eurail pass will not cover it.

Paris is 4 hours from Amsterdam on Thalys.

Yes Paris is quite a bit shorter, because of the Thalys (much faster). You can get a timetable from the DB website, which I posted in the transportation section. Most likely I'll be doing that route on my next trip. With a stopover in Belgium, off course.
