Scotland in September
Scotland in September
Whelp, I am posting my "reverse" trip as I will be headed to Scotland with my wife and daughter in September. I have been once before over a decade ago. But, like I remember...hah Any must see spots? (I will likely be hitting Glasgow to visit family).

Inverness and the surrounding area can be quite nice on a good day...bloody horrible on a dull, rainy windy day. I enjoy a trip around Glasgow too, some cool buildings and a lot to do and see. (I usually just stick to the shops mind you)
There's the Falkirk Wheel (http://www.thefalkirkwheel.co.uk/index.asp), which links the eastern and western canals. I went once, it's quite something, but only a hour or 2 visit at the very most IMO.
What sort of things are you interested in doing/seeing?[/url]

Loch Lomond is WELL worth a visit, 40ish min drive out of glasvegas
Get a meal at Lodge On The Loch - it'll cost you, but again - well worth it... setting and food are immense, especially if you can get out onto their decking which looks out over the loch, idilic!
You could visit parkhead, but that's bandit country
I should know, I live 10 mins away...

anyways, parochial disputes aside. im from edinburgh so concur with (most of) the above. would also recommend oban as you can take a ferry out to iona and mull.. lush.
back to edinburgh if you get the chance arthurs seat takes a couple of hours to climb but has great views all round the city
enjoy

If you happen to dip below the border into Northumberland (East coast), Bamburgh has one of the best beaches in Britain - miles of sand overlooked by a castle. It's only about 15 miles into England.

Nearby Holy Island (Lindisfarne) also has a fine castle and very good crab sandwiches.

On the subject of park head, the regeneration in that area is immense... thanks to the commonwealth games we'll be the 1st folk in Glasgow to get the full wireless setup. Still a bit of a shit hole though
I stay just down the road at the 'pure mad gallusgate'/'gallagate' or Gallowgate if you want it's Sunday name
