Re: Bluebird
Stopped in for some Northern Lights, but even though it was on the menu it was sold out. So I went with Lemon Haze and it was a first rate smoke. Silky smooth taste, very nice high, not too strong but a nice floating kind of high. Really enjoyed it. And the free wifi was a nice bonus, first time here but will definitely be going back.

Re: Bluebird
Last time I was in town I met up with Stan here, I bought 0.8 Otta and 0.8 water pressed Afgan both for €12.50. We sat down stairs and had a jolly good smoke up.
The Otta was really hard, difficult to break up and did not burn well, taste good or even give me a good stone. I have had this hash before and it was nothing like this, but its enough to put me off buying it again.
The Afgan on the other hand was super sticky, lucky for me the cool night air allowed me to handle it. We rolled it up into small snakes and smoked it in joints, I can't remember much about the taste but the high was incredible, when I say high I mean high!! It was a creepy up lifting feeling with wonderful visual effects, I can not recommend this hash highly enough 10/10 from me.

Couldn't agree more about the water pressed afghan, glad to hear it's still as good as in January. And you have to really be careful with its stickiness cause it tends to melt in your hand:) But anyway, it's the thing to try while in the Dam, i was high as hell after this.

Re: Bluebird
Just adding that the water pressed afghan is unavailable at the moment, real shame..
but the Herdala Ice - 12.50 / 1g is pretty nice too, picked up some of that and the Nepal cream 0.7g - 12.50 which I have yet to sample, but I am sure it be of a high quality, not been disapointed by any of the more expensive hashes at the bluebird..
As I am writing this, the Herdala Ice high is getting stronger and stronger, really nice stone.. and pretty similar to the water pressed afghan if memory serves..

+1 on the Herdala ice. It's an excellent smoke and very similar to the WPA only more leaning to Sativa.new2amsterdam wrote:Just adding that the water pressed afghan is unavailable at the moment, real shame..

Re: Bluebird
Someone ask them how the water pressed Afghan is made?
Re: Bluebird
I've never asked but I reckon it's a fancy name for hash extracted using the iceolator method. Correct me if I'm wrong here..

I didn't even ask and the man told me.Mack 10 wrote:Someone ask them how the water pressed Afghan is made?
'It is water pressed' he said knowingly. I nodded less knowingly and let the conversation progress towards other topics.
Probably should have pursued the subject but then what if the guy himself does not know? Could be arkward. Anyhow however they made it was excellent.
How much did you produce?
Re: Bluebird
Stopped into Bluebird today and picked up .08g of Water Pressed Afghan and 1g of Herdala Ice. Both are great and the Herdala tastes wonderful. Best to put the Afghan in a cig paper before it melts to the plastic bag. Bit of a bitch to scrape it off with a blade

I came in here for some water-pressed Afghan:

But the flavoured coffee (amaretto) was a work of art as well:

This was a shop I'd valued more for the product than for hanging out in, but after some interesting chats with the staff I can see myself spending more time there in the future.

Re: Bluebird
I visited on the 22nd after a stroll through Waterlooplein Market on my way out of town. I wanted to grab some Water Pressed Afghan but my luck would of course have it that it was out of stock
I instead opted for the sticky and very flexible Nepal Cream (0.8g/€12.50) and the hard, rather scentless Otta. It was then when I noticed Spliphy2 sitting right there upstairs next to the bud counter! I had forgotten that I'd posted on the forum that I'd even be here, but I did! I stuck to my super cream while Spliphy and I drank our drinks and talked about the fine art of growing, how my crude method of guerilla growing outdoors is almost insulting to proper growers, and pure African sativa genetics. It was all very informative and interesting. Also a generally good vibe in this nice shop. Not the comfiest seating in that little area but still nice and cheerful. Bifton and Danny joined us later for a smoke and when we left to go on to Voyagers, we left Spliphy in blissful solitude.
Now as for the smoke, I waited till I was home for them. The Nepal Cream is quite a standard black cream. Nice texture, nice oily taste on the slightly sweeter side, good body stone that lulled me into a slumber. The Otta I don't know about... haven't tired it yet but it really doesn't smell like much, doesn't really bend at all, and doesn't bubble much. I put my trust in the female BT when highly recommended it and said it was the heaviest indica stone out of any the black hashes they had. So if it's bad, I blame her entirely. That said, every single weed or hash that I bought this trip has been very much top notch (really, I've been very fortunate in my purchases) so if this isn't good stuff then that's one out of twenty and €12.50 out of god knows how much.
