Stopped by on Saturday (was my 40th birthday) and picked up a gram of Nepalese Temple Ball, I can't remember the cost sorry, found the dealer to be a cool guy, and felt quite welcome in there even though they were quite busy, me and the missus stayed there for about an hour, we sat at the little table below the dealer desk as there was no where else to sit and had a couple of smokes coffees to go with them, early Bowie on the tv no Floyd unfortunatly :(

The Temple Ball was very nice though :D

I read on another forum a more recently dated post than my last that said they were playing Floyd, so I gues we were just unlucky when we went in...

Pink Floyd was our first stop of the trip. This is a really fantastic shop. The people who work there are nothing but friendly. They do have Dampkrings menu now, so its all Dampkring gear.

We visited PF several times, and yes - once they were even playing the "Pulse" dvd. Also heard the Stones, Lenny Kravits, and several others. It can get pretty packed.

This place is my favourite from all the cafes in Amsterdam and I hope it hasn't changed too much after Dampkring took over.

First of all the staff always seems to be in a good mood and the girls were hot. On both times that we went there, it wasn't crowded at all. It's also pretty spacey and the decors are fantastic. :) It's just screaming 'classy'.

Mothers Finest was a good grass I recall, but I haven't bought anything else from PF for it seemed I was always too stacked before entering.

Thanks to ChefGirl9's review of this place I
went for my first time
(and then came back cause I liked it so much....).

The smoke was excellent, they had no Mothers Finest
but the Super Silver was fantastic and they also had
an Indica - Alegria that is also worth a try if it is in stock.
Had both on all times there..... love the Alegria -
perfect smoke for before going to sleep....

Image

The menu is Dampkring (partial list I think) and the
staff were very nice and friendly.
Heard no Pink Floyd...since they play a
whole DVD at a time you can get stuck with some
stuff you may not like....they had some reggae
one time and after 5-6 songs I was all reggaed out...
the other time they played the live Gorillaz DVD which
is amazing! There are 3 floors to choose from and I suggest
going up to the third floor as the view is nice and it is fun
to sit, smoke and watch the world go by...

Image

Also check out the glass front building - unique to say the least.
This is the view from the other window.

Image

The green couches on that floor have seen better days, but well worth the trek upstairs...the staff will even bring your drinks upstairs for you!

This is a big CS and they have a lot of counter space - and
they use it well - coffee machine, tosti maker and other food prep
gadgets so if you are hungry - no problem.

Liked this place a lot - great CS and close to Centraal.

PINK floyd doesnt exist nemore....

The once awsome pink floyd has been taken over by a commercial cafe group also who own dampkring and tweede kamer.

The shop is in the same place but its no where near as good as floyds use to be! however there only too happy to take advantage of this association! They falsely wave the umma gumma flag but theres no umma gumma nomore! Watch out here as a tourist u will get screwed! they will fill ure bag with stalks n powder! the thing is guys its a new cafe and new cafes do nething they can to make money eg they look to short change stoned tourists aswell as add stalks to give more wait...i have known countless local smokers stop going here since it changed ownership! I am extremely dissapointed in all service of this unbothered place! they sell good names of bud but it is only about 3rd quality of herb the best goes other shops! trust me! dont go here! (best weed is at GA or noons) Especially do not waste ure money on the expensive hash like moonshine and others they are there to screw u out of money! locals laugh at these prices and of course dont buy it!!!!!

Well that's too bad. I had wanted to go there on my next trip. I still will though, there has been enough good reviews. I need to find out for myself. I've smoked in the Dampkrig, but only with weed I bought elsewhere.

Total Crap.... The owner of Dampkring bought the Pink Floyd shop early this spring. It has only gotten better. They kept the good staff and eliminated the rest. The menu is similar to the Dampkring and 2e Kamer. Which means, excellent weed and hash at local prices. In fact all pricing at the three shops went down 20 to 30 percent a few weeks ago to take the piss out of green house and barneys. They have some great remodel plans and this will be THE place to go on Haarlemerstraat.

Just another locals opinion.

Thats strange... I seem to remember a lot of locals buying the moonshine prerolls and many people (tourists and locals) that I've spoken to say they are the best pre-rolls in the city.

As for everything else you've said about PF, gotta disagree with most of it... this shop is friendly, comfortable and since it was taken over the quality of weed has improved massively, I've never had stalky weed from any of Dampkring, TK or PF...

lctricity I agree with you, We too had heard rave reviews of Pink Floyd, however upon first impressions were dissapointed. The service was not all that good, the bartender was neither polite or friendly and looked as tho she didnt enjoy her job!

We bought two cokes, these were a little expensive but this was to be expected! We then purchased some NYC Diesel from again an unhelpful and sour faced budtender...this being said the weed did the trick and would deffinately recommend!

All in all I would sum up Pink Floyd as commercial and busy, the best thing was the trippy music! but like all good things we are willing to give it a second try!

Thats crazy, good crazy though. Barneys is a joke for prices. Many a time seen weed offered cheaper in other coffeeshops.

When do they plan on it being finished?

Pink floyd is now a member of the dampkring family. So they have one og the best menues in amsterdam. Must try the waterworks, it's mindblowing:)
