Trip Report August 07 (Photos)
Ok, so I haven't actually written the report yet but I've uploaded the photos so I thought I'd share them for now and I'll get the report up in the next couple of days.
My girlfriend and I stayed for 4 nights in a citymundo apartment in the Old South, on Peter Aertsz Straat, less than a minutes walk from Greenhouse Tolstraat and Lutmastraat tram stop.
After that we went to the Lowlands Festival (www.lowlands.nl) for 4 nights of camping and music and from there we had another 2 nights in Amsterdam.
I'll go into more detail soon.

Completely different! It was something we really wanted to see and experience as we've looked into moving to Amsterdam in the past and continue to think about it; so we needed to see the reality of living there.
We were really lucky with the position of our apartment, within 2 mins walk of our door we had an Albert Heijn, a tram stop and Greenhouse Tolstraat, as well as various shops and restaurants.

Yeah, it was a particularly good batch, probably the best blueberry I've ever smokedcheese wrote:hmm that blueberry looks so good
Apologies that some of the close up photography didn't turn out too good, its my first time playing around with the macro mode on my camera...
My favourite acts were Arcade Fire, Interpol, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Goose (off the top off my head). Would of liked to see Richie Hawtin, but he wasn't on til 3am and I'd smoked myself retarded by that point!geoffk wrote: by the way, what were your favorite acts? i see a lot i don't know there. kinda reminds me of coachella ( http://www.coachella.com/event/lineup )

Plastikman is a fallen god imo, I can't be bothered with chin stroking super minimal techno, click pop clickky clickky pop pop *repeat for 4 hours*, I wanna shake my waistline - Dex Efx 'n 909 was the last proper effort I heard from him, Ricardigan Villalobos (deliberate spelling mistake) and Sven have been fiddling with my 2nd favourite Canadian's brain
Sorry, I'm off topic... do that all the time too
Smashing pics there! Thanks for sharing!

NICE REPORT
Very nice report, Man. Great pics. I saw the ashtray on your coffee table. We have considered getting an apartment, but the ones we looked at online forbid smoking inside. That wouldn't even be so bad in good weather with a good balcony like you had. Like you said, how could you go wrong with a Hein, a tram stop and Greenhouse all 2 minutes stroll away.
Congrats.
Congrats.

Citymundo
Hi JayK...
We are going in November for our 2nd trip this year. In March we stayed at the Bulldog, and we have reservations there again as well as the Hemp Hotel. However, after I read your log I looked up Citymundo. We liked a couple of the places, and are waiting to hear back on availability. What was your experience with them? How did your check in and payment go? Just kind of wondering if it would be worth it to change our plans. Really, I'm sure they are booked up (Only 10 weeks to go!) but also thinking of them for the next trip

Re: Citymundo
I have nothing but good things to say about citymundo, the check in and payment were easy, we met our host at the apartment, paid the remaining money and he left us the keys, that was it. I'll DEFINITELY stay with them again, it would be hard to go back to hotel/hostel rooms after having the privacy and facilities an apartment offers you.smitt052 wrote:Hi JayK...
