Just wanted to introduce myself to the group and say "hi"...the wife & I will be traveling to Adam in approx. 49 days (but who's counting?). It will be trip #8 but our first in about 5 years SO I'll be curious to see just how much things have changed. Funny, I read alot about how the weed in Amsterdam 'sucks' (or something to that effect). We started travelling to Adam around '97 or so and noticed an steady increase in the quality since (leaving off in '02) and decrease in overall price (with competition growing yearly). Of course, I have no grower friends and rely on high-end commercial (upper middle class!) here at home. Not bad really, identifiable indica's & sativa's & the occassional haze strain for short money so we're EASILY impressed once we hit the motherland.':D'
Can't wait for the hash! The hasj! The hashish! And the Clashish ("london calling", a clash cover band will be playing the paradiso while we're over).

Welcome HasjDreamer,
I'm not sure if the overall quality has gone down, but some shops are cashing in on the marketing of identifiable strain names and selling lower quality. But the good stuff is there for sure. Looking forward to a report from you.

Welcome and enjoy your journey..Yeah you hear the weed is not good quality but I take my own tasting into consideration..So leave it up to your judgement..There is good and bad every where but very few places in the world to smoke so freely..So i look at it like wine tasting it's all subjective..Enjoy yourselves and have fun..

What dates will you be in Amsterdam? I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
I couldn't agree more with you on the hash.

Oh, I'm not at ALL swayed but the "I get better buds at home" scenario...my wife and I enjoy Adam as much for the culture that CREATED free smoking as the free smoking itself. It's why we've never bothered to visit bc and, although the bud was devastating when we visited so california, I have no desire to chose it over the Netherlands.
Besides, where else can you sample the worlds selection of hasj in one place? Reading about visiting Delhi, the Riff mt's or even Nepal you'll find that many of their best hash samples are shipped to Amsterdam anyway!
Although we're obviously American, we do enjoy traveling during 'non-american' times and love succumbing to the Dutch way of life. I'm always embarassed by fellow weed heads from the US when they nick-pick a bud (I've seen buds returned at the Grey Area "too much stem dude!) and try to tell me how their weed back home is SO superior.
Our first visit, they handed me a menu and my high times dreams came true!
