Nes/420 Still sell weed?

Post by Lpmchenry »

Hello Everyone- Does anyone know if Nes and De Kuil still sell both weed and alchol? I know they were going to pass a law allowing shops to sell only one or the other. If they did pass this law does anyone know what other shops were effected. Thanks!! :) :)

Search around, but here are some smoker friendly bars:

No doubt some of these are covered in that 6 page thread, and I may have missed some out, but the following may be of help if you would like to have a drink in a smoker friendly atmosphere (all grabbed from threads here, channels.nl, a couple of other forums, and where detail was scarce, their own websites)

BARS
Lost in Amsterdam - Water Pipes+Alcohol+TV+WiFi
Nes Café - DC works there
Ricks Cafe
cafe mensche
Smoking Bull
Sensi Seeds (sells cans of lager)- upstairs closed?
Barney's Brasserie - (Bar next to Barney's breakfast coffeeshop)

Rock Planet
Black Tiger
Stones Café
Wonder Bar
Waterhole- (live music bar)
The Flying Dutchman - OK To Smoke?
Winston (club/Bar?)- Open until 4am weekends - Free WiFi At Bar
Coco's Outback
Susies Saloon - Darts, Pool, Smoker Friendly
red light bar - avoid the cafe though - the one by railway station?
cafe de duivel
green house effect bar - free wifi? - next door to their coffeeshop

SMOKER FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS/CAFES
Nomads - after dinner service has finished
Coco's Outback Steakhouse - Specific smoking section
Satellite Sports Cafe - certain areas ok
Blue Tea House (Het Blauwe Theehuis) - open til 1am w/end - outside seating middle of Vondel Park

SMOKER FRIENDLY OTHER PLACES
Excalibur Cafe - Pool
Cafe Soundgarden
Korsakoff (Club) - Smoking OK No Entrance Fee No Dress Code -
Paradiso (club) - around €5 door fee
Melkweg (club/bar/cafe/gallery/etc.)
Maloe Melo - (live Blues)
OCCII (Club) - around €5 door fee - Located at the far end of the Vondelpark

PS Bit obvious, but pool refers to game, not swimming :)
PPS Just to re-iterate the above list is not from personal experience, but have all been mentioned as smoker friendly in the last year or so.

Thanks for the great responses guys. I am glad that 420 still sells and sad that NES does not. Actually, I am mainly interested in finding out which places that used to sell both no longer sell weed at all as I am not a drinker. So I was just trying to figure out which places I used to go to may have stopped selling weed. If you know of any other places that may have stopped selling weed please let me know. What about The Coin and Hunters didn' they both sell both or was it split between alchol at Hunters and weed at The Coin? Any other restaurants that are smoker friendly that have not yet been posted would be very helpful as well. thnaks again for the responses guys.

Didn't know that, been wanting to check that place out. They have movies and DJs in the summer I hear. It's in Vondelpark, by the way. On the west side just south of the hostel. Passed by it on my frequent trips under the trees for a smoke and some frisbee.

Think so.

They have a free PC terminal to use and when one of our radio station hosts from the Netherlands met up with us, he turned his laptop on (to listen to our radio station ) in the room we had a choice of 9 open connections... dunno if any of them belonged to GHE though, could either be other stores with free wi-fi nearby or some rather silly home wi-fi users... either way, it's NL, 20 billion light years ahead in the 'internet per square inch' than most of us

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll be taking my PDA with a little CF WiFi card. If anyone else has a Windows Mobile powered device, with 80211.b/g capabilities, I'd recommend grabbing a copy of WiFiFoFum, it makes detecting networks nice and easy, especially if you are walking around trying to find somewhere to sit with a strong signal. If you hook it up to a GPS at the same time, you can even get a (more) reliable direction indicator, and record where the APs are for later use. If you can't find it on google, I've written a review on my blog a month or so back.
