Post by Nestaman »

I am going to amsterdam in november my first time, and as I am a very big fan of Reggae music I wonder if anyone here can recommend a few good reggae bars/clubs ... and of course some coffeeshops which mainly play reggae .. ?

Check if Melkweg has any reggae when you are there. Doublereggae is very cheesy by the way (in my opinion)

Hey Nestaman,

Clubs:
Café Club Jamaica
Van Woustraat 5
+31 6 10264324
*this place may be closed down not sure

Club Caribbean
Nieuwe Uilenburg 116
tel-020 6249566 *still open?

also I like to pop into Boudisque music store @ Haringpakkerssteeg 10 in Centrum for info. They have posters/flyers on the wall of Reggae parties that are coming up.

Here is a link for Reggae parties/shows: http://www.rootsmusic.nl/fc1.html?/AdamReggaeGuide.htm

I am a massive Reggae fan too...saw Black Uhuru at Paradiso and that was amazing especially being able to smoke in the club.

They are playing again soon in Zaandam.

Still looking for a shop where they play decent reggae so loud you loose you self in music, like is possible when at home..
