Hey Stuart - agree with you about the NYCD at Dampkring, it's really great stuff....not being funny though but if you turn 360 degrees you are back facing the way you started!!!

top 5 in amsterdam for sure......in fact here's 5 faves...

1. Amnesia - coolest hang at night. best "king" seats.
2. Grey Area - when you get the best, its hard to argue.
3. Dampkring - top notch menu. cool booths to hang in.
4. la Tertulia - only daytime shop with kind ladies.
5. Barney's - the rubble can give you trouble !

Sorry, can't agree on anything but GA and Damkring, Amnesia has gotten insanely expensive and they have also seriously let their service and atmosphere go in there, not in my top 5 anymore, not even top 10...

I would include any of the following shops in a top 5, in no particular order, but can't decide among them:

Bluebird
Damkring (Anyone of the chain, it's the gear that's the mayor point here...)
420 Café
Katsu
MY
Coin (Sentimental value, but the staff is tops and so is the gear usually at quite reasonable prices, keeping the location in mind...)
GA
Basjoe
Bushdoc

and last, but not least:

Bulldog! FTW!

On previous trips I have ignored this place for no real reason, but now I live here and it was recommended by a Dutch friend. I'm glad I went because it's a very cool place indeed! The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful probably some of the best i've dealt with whilst here. The weed menu is fantastic and very high quality, it is something they obviously are proud of and care about. Extremely nice hash and some exquisite weed - very good value really I would come here to buy weed over Amnesia any day. The atmosphere is very nice, though it can get a bit crowded but that further indicates the quality of the shop. I have sat in this dimly lit place reading for hours practically undisturbed, it is a great place to sit in and has a overall friendly feel to it. The only thing I don't like about it is the music they play (just not to my taste at all) the last two time I was there they played Ace of Bass - yikes! No, no, no that is not good music, nothing will convince me otherwise. Still - I digress this place is ace! Go there, buy weed, sit down and enjoy a nice smoke in a very cool place.

My feelings exactly.

then you`re missing some of the best weed.......go to Pink floyd or Tweede Kamer, they usualy arent as crowded

It is worth the wait for high quality weed, patience is a virtue.

jus left here 20 mins ago an i had sum verry good amnesia for 10 euro and sum water works for 40 euro a g they both were fuckin top notch water works was a bit spicy tastin

there amnesia haze is very nice had sum on the 30th of last month.

I've not been for over a year now, but the NYCD there is pretty much my favourite smoke ever, hugely buzzing cerebral high and mouthwatering smell. Just found out i'll be over again next month so I'm reading the forums to tease myself.

Can't wait to get round the corner to that awesome frites shop either!

i was there last week and also think that the diesel there is great value. the place was always crowded and we managed to find stools in the far corner but given its location, its no wonder why so many people go there (asides from quality strains!).

I am dying to have some NYCD but went last night and they only had the dregs left, the time before that they had nothing! Great valu and i've heard very good things!

To make up for it i got some mexican haze which is a fucking delightful smoke

Kadinskys NYCD is tasty, an Grey Area's (Grey Diesel) was fantastic. try one of them if you cant find it.
