Munch Bunch Summary
The Dampkring 2 has a three floor layout, the bottom floor is where the bar and drugs desk is situated whilst floors one and two accommodate the seating and socialising areas. It has sleek black steelwork and various beige comfortable seats spread over the two floors. The whole shop is pristine and gives off a clean sharp look. Even though the seating that was available was very luxurious it was limited. However, on our visit the top floor was closed so there was the potential for more room upstairs. There were a few plasma TV’s mounted into the walls but they were not showing anything, thus the entertainment factor was low. The toilets were rather strange as you could see the shop floor whilst using them; they were up to a good standard which made them score well. When we entered the shop the music was veering towards feminine pop, but got progressively better during our stay, turning into more relaxed tunes.
The variety of drugs was amazing with more type of hash and weed than we had seen in any other shop, making it difficult for us to choose what we wanted. In the end we went with The White Russian, which was fairly priced and not to shabby to smoke. The variety of drinks was somewhat run of the mill but the fair prices gave it an above average score on our ratings. There looked to be food available behind the bar in the form of snacks, but no meals were on offer.
The atmosphere was dull although towards the end seemed to liven up a tad. There is not much to say about the view as the shop is situated on a typical Amsterdam street. Overall, a fairly good coffee shop, which scored highly due to its variety and fair prices of drugs.

Mr Oranje, I believe this excellent review of Dampkring belongs in Dampkring 2 (formerly Pink Floyd). Thank you for the great Munch Bunch Summary.

Was just checking out some of the menus and noticed the April 2009 menu for Dampkring on Haarlemerstraat.
The Water Works is listed in three potencies, 20e, 35e, and 45e a gram each respectively.

Well, I can tell you the prices are now 20e, 40e, and 60e!!! each respectively.
Can anyone share some incite on the pricing procedures for shops? Is it simply supply and demand that could cause such dramatic changes in pricing over just a couple months?
THanks.

The Waterworks is over rated...overall this shop could be a lot better. Very cool decor and a nice size shop. However, they can be a little pushy making sure you buy a drink...even though I spent ~100e at the counter on Waterworks (5 of 10), Rifman (4 of 10) and some Amnesia Haze (7 of 10). If I see another run of Ocean's Twelve, I'm going to spray chunks.
