Fall Frolic 2007??

Post by smitt052 »

Hello Everyone...

We are going to be in Amsterdam Nov 5th-15th. I was looking at the "who's in town" page and I noticed the Fall Frolic starts on the 8th. However it doesn't really say what it is. Does anyone know?

It is what I am calling my November trip to Amsterdam and Haarlem. Sort of like Smokefest 03 or Rites Spring 2005. Both of these, with trip reports, can be found on the Archives page. It will include several meet and greets and a coffeeshop crawl or two. I'll post whatever I plan as I firm things up. Click Fall Frolic for more info.

OK So I'm gonna be in Amsterdam in a couple of weeks for just 2 days for a purely leisure trip. However, my boss told me yesterday I may have to go to Utrecht for a business trip early to mid November. I may just be able to pop into Amsterdam for a day or two and get involved in this Fall Frolic thing.

FlyByNite - is anyone welcome to come and join you guys? If so, I might just see you there!

Come one, come all. Forum affiliations do not matter, on the Fall Frolic 2007 pages you will notice there is not a forum logo displayed. There will be at least two crawls planned. One in Amsterdam and another in Haarlem. I am also leaning toward a field trip to Utrecht for a mini crawl to include Sarasani the oldest coffeeshop in the Netherlands.

Hey FBN,I think it is closed.I got this from the reviews off this site. -- - -"Kris from Netherlands. Sent 1 Sep 2007.
It has been closed by the police, the owners were involved in a 10 kilo deal with a German."- Thats sucks if true.

Sarasani was closed down earlier this month, FBN.

http://www.blikopnieuws.nl/bericht/57115 (in Dutch)

A deal was arranged in the coffeeshop between a buyer and a seller for nearly 10kg of softdrugs. Police investigating this also found over 37kg of softdrugs in a nearby building belonging to one of the owners of Sarasani.
I think the coffeeshop is closed for good. Peace.

This is a very sad event, it was in business 7 years before Amsterdam had any coffeeshops. It will be missed.

Thats a shame- having looked at the photos on the website I remember going there some years ago - maybe 97/98 - didn't realise at the time it was the 1st coffeeshop - don't think they made a song and dance about it - probably too stoned to notice if they did! I have to be honest and say i thought it was a bit of a dive when i went but i remember the quality of the smoke was awesome - guess it was something of a purists shop.

FlyByNite - I hope to join your Fall Frolic event at some point all being well - be nice to meet some tokers from the other side of the pond!
