11 days and counting......advice please

Hi,

My first visit to the Dam back in 1997 went the way of most first-time no-brainers. I remember being drawn to the lights and spending time in the Bulldog, Grasshopper and Smokeys, which i now know to be 3 of the worst tourist-trap coffeeshops in the Dam.

I've been to Amsterdam many times since then and have now i think honed my visits quite well. However, i could always use the help and advice of experienced Dammers like you guys on this forum as well as some up-to-date info.

Here's my plan for my trip in 11 days time:

Coffeeshops just to buy from:
Central
Grey Area - both great weed and track records.
Stix - temple balls, nuff said.

Coffeeshops just to chill in:
Abraxas - great place to chill
RastaBaby - like to listen to the reggae, great conservatory, nice friendly cat.

Coffeeshops to buy and chill in:
Mellow Yellow - a favourite of mine
Bluebird - nice atmosphere, friendly staff, try the K-Drink - it's delicious
Tweede Kamer, Amnesia - never been before, going off recommendations on here

Places to chill, have a beer with my smoke and watch football:
Stones - chilled out, friendly
Smoking Bull - recommended to me on here

I'm also staying at Rookies hotel so i'll probably have a smoke in there at some point, may even check out their restaurant too.

So, any comments on my list?
Anywhere you'd avoid - have any of the above places gone downhill since my last visit?
Anywhere not on my list that i should defo visit?

It looks like you have got a good list there, i like to buy and chill n hunters also they have a very large menu for weed usually freindly staff too.

Give it a go.

Don't forget De Dampkring man, good to buy and chill, route 99 is also nice to stay, about central mmm this is average stuff, and small pre weight bags, I would stay away.
Don't forget Katsu, trefpunt, greenhouse, and if you really want everything, quality, relax places, and great prices, def. go to Willie wortel's in Haarlem you will not be disappointed

I agree with you when it comes to Mellow Yellow, its my beloved one!
where you shouldn`t go is abraxas, only if you can chill their without buying any weed, because we bought two bags of 1 gr. and when we weighed them at home (just some hours later) it was only 0,7 in them, which is a big rip off. its great to chill, but dont buy their weed!

I like smoking bull for chillin.The staff and other customers at the noon are always cool too.My first stop everytime is the coin for their wide selection.

Based on your advice i might swerve Central and may drop in at Hunters to check that place out too.

Any last minute advice would be appreciated, especially from any Dam residents or anyone who's been there during the last week or so

Your weighing experiment was a great service to us shady, keep on telling people about it - that's a 30% rip-off

If I was you I'd write to the owner, I'll bet it's just a dodgy budtender who is skimming off herb for himself. This kind of thing gives coffeeshops in general a bad name.
