Just read my Hotel is 5 min walk away, what should be my first 'gettin' high' smoke upon arriving late afternoon in A'dam at this neighborhood CS?

I like my cannabis/hash in pipes. Don't smoke tobacco.

On my trip to Amsterdam last year the first hotel we stayed at was the Arena. It was about a 5 minute walk from the Little Balloon. It was 100% locals but a nice introduction to coffeeshops. Several people in there playing checkers, and mostly people pulling up after work and buying some to go for later. The AK-57 was supersticky. I suck at rolling joints, and mine looked like a boa constrictor that swallowed several bowling balls. Pulled it apart and borrowed their bong. Good times.

erm, isnt this the menu of Rusland? I did a picture last month when we went, and its exactly the same

The prices on the White Russian and AK47 look pretty reasonable. I'd shop there.

I only smoke a pipe and always have done, for me only the best they have is good enough and for me that's along the lines of a Temple Ball, Nep, Ice or a good (meaning you've done it yourself) charas. You can always ask the budtender for his view, that doesn't mean it's the best, it's just the best that that cs has. You could always try a chillum and use grass instead of tobac, which is also VERY nice . Bom Shiva
