Another relatively late awakening. Got up and tuned into a Dutch radio station and had a few cups of tea. Almost the same breakfast as yesterday, we finished off the eggs, bacon and bread we also had a few extras. Swampy had nipped out and got some mushrooms and white pudding, never had this before only black pudding. Top notch breakfast, satisfied out on the streets we wandered. We strolled over to STIX, Korte Koningsstraat shop. We bought some gunpowder and rolled a few joints of morning glory with a top up of gunpowder. Bang, knocked our socks off. We lost an hour in here, can’t even remember the conversation if there was any. We headed outside and it seemed to bring the stone to another level for me. I felt like I was walking on big bouncy pillows, really stoned.
We headed to Pink Floyd (dampkring). I took a look at a few tubs, the Super Silver Haze stood out above everything for me, looks and smell were a cut above. Swampy got some Mako Haze. We got a table and smoked our cannabis. The SSH was far more hazey than the Mako, the taste and smell from it was extraordinary. This is some of the best SSH I’ve smoked, it was just about on a par with what the greenhouse use to do years ago and Mellow Yellow nearly always have an excellent SSH, unfortunately the stuff I had on day one was below the standard I have become used to from this shop. Different grower maybe. Swampy finished the gm of Mako which was nice but nowhere near as nice as the SSH. He decided to get some SSH as well. He came back with two large buds, they were beautiful. We had a few drinks in here in fact we stayed here for quite a considerable time, the staff were friendly.
From here we jumped on a tram down to the Heineken brewery. We done the tour, it was very enjoyable, it was nice to stop in the bars on the way round for refreshment beers. We headed off with our free gift from the brewery.
We made our way to the Spui area and went to Dutch Flowers. I didn’t buy but swampy got some Jack Herrer, excellent smoke. Pungent earthy smell, full of crystals and a kick in the ass to go with it. I got no attitude from the guy behind the counter because I had only bought a drink and no weed. I rolled a joint of the SSH I had got earlier from Pink Floyd right on the counter as we had our drinks served. I have never had any problems with bullshit attitude from the staff here, however, I have seen the short guy with a shaved head be rude to some customers over the years I have visited the shop. I don’t know why he has to do this and I can see why they get negative comments, but personally I like this place especially when it is warm enough to sit on the canal outside, no place like it in summer. I always see a lot of locals here.
We said goodbye and went to Tweede Kamer so I could pick up some hash for our late night hash snacking at the apartment tonight. I had a look at all the Rifman Hash, you could tell the difference from the bottom end hash and the top end hash, but the middle priced ones looked all the same. I didn’t make a note of prices but think they ranged from 10/e a gm to 16/e a gm. I bought a mid range hash. I tucked this in my pocket for later tonight. We headed for food from here and then back to the apartment for a shower. We had a few beers and joints in the apartment before we headed out to grey area to see if it was open, Swampy wanted more Silver Bubble from yesterday, it was shut so we went to Amnesia. Swampy got some NYCD, I got laughing buddah. The NYCD was Shit, and shouldn’t have even been called a diesel, worst weed so far, Swampy was nearly crying into his crap of coffee. Laughing buddah was much better. Swampy somehow always ended up with the Buddha joint while I was left holding the so called Diesel joint.
At this point I’d like to mention a bit more about Swampy, a few of you commented on him in my previous posts. First of all I don’t think his nickname gives a true picture of him. He’s just turned 18, he’s a smashing lad, excellent manners, values and principles. He’s 6ft, a handsome guy and doing well in his studies, he’s very proud of his appearance but not to the point where he’s in the mirror all the time, he doesn’t need to be. He always has different girls chasing him back home, and has a very nice social circle. He was at my house the other week with his pal, they were asking me about Amsterdam. This trip was close, Swampy was taking the piss out of his mate (in a good natured way) about how he’d be enjoying it all and his mate would be stuck back at home wondering which coffeeshop Swampy was in. They were then making plans for a trip some time. I guess I’m biased because I am his uncle but most of my friends know him and they have told me what a well adjusted young man he is.
From Amnesia we headed to stones café for a few drinks we smoked a joint of Jack Herrer that swampy got from Dutch Flowers earlier in the day. Once again I’d like to say it is a great smoke and was priced very low on the menu, definately worth trying. All female staff in Stones Cafe all the time, which helps. I’m sure the bar staff were playing up to all the guys watching them, they would have a little dance behind the bar while serving, there is a lovely ambience in here. Swampy certainly liked it. He said he needed more weed, I gave him 20e and told him to pick something for me too, so he went to the coin while I stayed at the bar. He returned with some bubblegum for him, he got this form the coin, he then called in to greenhouse effect to get my weed. He got the greenhouse special, top of the menu he said. One bud weighing 2gm’s, this was a great choice for me The G/house special was special, it gave a great talkative high, definitely sativa i’d say. The bubble gum was very nice as well, great clouds of stinky blue smoke. Swampy gave this a guy who was sat next to him at the bar a smoke of his joint of bubblegum, it was passed back to Swampy almost immediately, the guy made his way to the outside tables at the back of the shop and had a full on whitey. Swampy told me the guy had been telling him he smokes weed all the time but had runout. I mean for fooks sake how the hell can you run out of weed bang in the middle of Amsterdam. I guess the bubblegum had him, Swampy could see what had happened and was concerned. He made the barstaff aware. A big bald headed security guy went outside and gave him some sugared water, I guess this sorted him out. From here we headed to the red light bar for drinks until closing time, I’m starting to feel like this is my local boozer, but that’s not a bad thing. Once again we finished the night in here. We smoked copious amounts of ganja, drank a few small beers and played pool. We had some good banter with the attractive girl behind the bar. We headed to the apartment laughing about the guy in Stones Café who wiped out. We got in, cracked a bottle open and put the T.V on. We smoked the Rifman hash until we could smoke no more. We headed to bed as if we had recently had hip replacements, we were all over the place, couldn’t walk in a straight line. The hash put me into a beautiful warm Moroccan dream.

great report man. looking forward to the next installment. swampy and i are around the same age give or take a few years. i can relate to his excitment for his first trip as my first real visit there(went once in 1994 but was only like 8 or 9 so couldn't enjoy amsterdam like i do now) was in 2006.
educating myself and waiting for the next trip.
