Hi i have been reading reports and noticed that they are now cracking down on id's!
im going over at the end of next month myself im 21 but my freind has just turned 18 and was wondering if they only accept passports as proof of age or if they take photo driving liecences aswell as i dont really want to have to carry around my passport when im stoned as i will proably lose it!!!LOL!
any light on this subject would help me alot!
Many Thanks

do a search , im pretty sure there was a thread that went into some great detail..
im also pretty sure that a passport is the only documentation that will be enough. you can try with ur drivers license.. but then u may be turned down... but what is the worse thing that can happen, u get turned down and u come back later with your passport.. lol

If your'e from the U.S. you need to show passport. I think the rules are a little different for EU member countries.

ALL coffeeshops require you to be 18 or over.

only a couple shops are 21 and over, and thats more or less prolly cause thats the crowed they want.

I wasnt asked for ID in any coffeeshops when I was over in september, i am 29 but I look rather young for my age ppl cannot believe I am coming 30 in dec (neither can I for that matter) bring it with you just in cxase, i did it would be embarrassing being asked and you not having it on you, I made sure I had either my passport or driving licsense on me at all times.

Looks like i'll have to keep my passport on me then, as i've not got a driving license.

since the first time we went into a shop i always showed my drivers license, and never had trouble. so if you have an EU driver license there should be no problem.
only saw one shop on our last trip where it said "21 and older", the real good shops (you know what i mean, dampkring, mellow yellow, grey area etc.) are only 18 and older, dont worry too much about this. on our last trip they only asked us in half of the shops for our IDs and I dont look that old, really
