So, my train rolled into Central Station at about 1pm. I was armed with a list of coffeeshops to visit and strains to try, all gleamed from this very forum and website. Despite having visited the Dam many a time, this was my first time equipped with this array of valuable info. I also had, tucked away in my backpocket, Lemming's excellent coffeeshop map.
I jumped straight on a tram to the leidesplein and walked to Rookies Uptown Hotel where I was staying. The guy there was friendly and helpful - always nice to be checked in with a smile. A quick change and I went down to Rookies coffeeshop for my first smoke of the day. I no longer smoke back home in Blighty so I always take it a little easy on my first smoke in the Dam so I bought some Orange Bud. It was a nice smoke, tasty and a kind of mellow, floating high - just right for what I wanted - it didn't waste me but got me nicely high. Rookies is a nice coffeshop, spacious with a pooltable and a nice outside area. The weather was quite decent that day, so I sat outside to have my toke.
From there I floated along to the legendary Mellow Yellow, although the multitude of roadworks in that area made it harder to reach than usual. From MY, I bought some Shiva and some Orange Haze. I was only gonna stop for a quick one but got chatting to a young dutch couple and ended up staying ages. The Shiva was really disappointing - reminded me of what we used to call "Yardie Weed" round these parts in the late 90s - it was rough on the throat, tasted artificial and was too moist. The Orange Haze on the other hand was awesome, a real nice high, quite strong and really tasty - I'd recommend it. I also tried some of the couple's smoke which was also from MY, but I can't remember the name - really nice high though. A glance at my watch revealed it was 9/30 and I hadn't yet eaten so I said my goodbyes and dashed over to Rookies restaurant - the guy at the hotel told me i'd get a 10% discount and so it was. The food was nice and tasty - reminded me of typical English Pub Grub - did the job nicely.
From there, I popped into Get Down To It, a coffeeshop ive never been to before but it was getting late and it was just up the road. I bought some light hash, which may have been Ketama Gold but im not sure? It was quite disappointing, didn't burn well at all. I also got some Super Silver Haze, on the recommendation of the BudTender, which was very good, strong and with a nice kick. After a while I retired to my Hotel Room for my traditional nightime cocktail reefer. I put in the rest of the Orange bud, some Orange Haze, some Super Silver Haze and a good bit of the light hash! Nicely stoned, I then crashed into bed.........................

Alright Matty,glad to hear you made it there safely.I will be looking forward to your upcoming reports.If you get a chance,stop by Dampkring and sample the bubblegum.There are supposed to have a good 5 g deal on it,but I was wondering about the quality(but being Dampkring it should be nice) of it.I am also looking forward to meeting you and Smoker Moby in just 38 days!!
