rookie as far as shrooms are concerned

Don't try and enter a coffeeshop on 'shrooms; you will be promptly ejected.

Be safe, and always always have someone straight with you to sort out any potential situations.

so your saying people that havn't done shrooms before shouldnt be able to do them???

everyone needs a first time, and this person is being sensible about it askin for advice and info not just takin a shit load, so i dont think you should really be sayin ' DONT'

No, Mark, I didn't say Rookie shouldn't be able (allowed) to do them, I advised him (since he asked) against doing a strong,psychoactive/hallucinagenic drug for the first time, not knowing anything about how he would be affected, not knowing anything about dosages, in a foreign city in which functional people get lost, without a BUDDY to help him through it...all of which adds up to Rookie+shrooms=very bad idea.
I don't have the authority to prevent Rookie from doing anything. But, some chick (Rookette?) ODed and died recently, and now the Govt is going to shut down the shrooms. Wonder if anybody offered her any good advice: like DON'T.

she didnt od, she took a wobbler and jumped off a bridge, though I think ahe had a history of mental illness which means any psychoactive drug is a BIG no no.

I did my first journey on 'shrooms in the 'dam, with a friend, locked safely in my hotel room. Oh what a night!

I had the most fantastic time, everything was funny and I became very philisophical, the TV became my best friend, I have never found such rubbish TV so incredibly funny. I giggled myself stupid watching MOTD for gods sake!

Taking a pee was incredible, I literally PML when I went to pee!!

I was so glad I was in my hotel room when I tripped as I don't think i could have handled people and the hustle and bustle of a street and making decisions, the comfort and safety of the hotel room was perfect.

Follow the advice on here and you'll be fine, I recommend having a buddy if you can (I'm in the 'Dam next week for one night and will be locking myself away, alone and having a ball!), keep the Vit C handy to level you out and maybe just try half a punnet for starters and see how you fare.

Conscious Dreams has an area at the rear where you can trip, also their product (based on my limited experience) is superb!

Whatever you choose to do, be safe and have a hell of a time!

All in all i'm not offended by your answer bigbob, although you could have persuaded me in a more elegant way to keep away from shrooms. I'm happy to let you know that i will probably just stick with the good old J's since i do NOT have a companion around when i would be taking the paddos and i have no intention to jump of a bridge anytime soon.
For your information: it is not people 'like me' who make things bad for the rest of you who are avid mushroom fans. It is precisely because i'm smart enough to inform myself before hand that i know that it would be a bad idea to try it out. So don't take out your frustration with dumbass tourists who do not know what they are doing out on me. Be thankfull that i came on this site and asked for advice from the people who know.

How will they be able to tell if you are on shrooms or not? If you dont get all wierded out on the shrooms but just sit and have a peaceful trip, I really doubt that you will be bothered by the staff. I have done some tripping in cs's before without a problem. Not necessarily the best place to trip but to each his own. I would recommend tripping out in a park or other natural area, with your trip-sitter of course.

You asked for advice, and I, as someone with 35 years experience, offered you the best advice I could give: sometimes the best advice is DON"T. I did not offer this advice just to spoil your fun, but because experience has taught some hard lessons: the Buddy System is an absolute must. If you can find a buddy, especially one with experience with shrooms, then knock yourself out, have fun, and be safe.If not, then tripping alone, for the very first time, in a foreign place, is a real bad idea.
If you have learned from this exchange, then I congratulate you. Most people are too hardheaded to accept advice they didn't want to hear.
If you really want to check out the shrooms, come to Orlando and I'll hook you up and be your buddy and you can trip balls and be safe.

Here are my 2 cents, Smartshops have advice just like budtenders. LISTEN to them. Usually the Mexicans are the ones to start with the least potent. You don't want to get in a pissing match with something like Mushrooms because you will lose everytime. Remember you can always get higher but its hard to come down if you take to much. Eat 1/2 of the box, eat them fresh taste like crap but to bad. Wait 1/2 hour or maybe even an hour and eat the other half if you are okay. Plan the day out AHEAD of time, as you won't be very good at making any decisions. Drink lots of water and eat even if you don't really want to. I took my last paddos (shrooms) on an empty stomache but ate about an hour later. It does help if one person in the group does not do them to chaperon. Don't take them if you worry a lot or are having a lot of problems.

Bottom line be careful and have a good trip.

Be careful, we have always heard do not mix certain drugs , but most people think that doesn't apply to them. Well in my research it does when mixing alcohol with Mushrooms. So go to the Heineken Brewery and take that tour another day. Like most we have limited time over there so we would be better picking and choosing ahead of time. You ever wake up and think damn I drank so much I missed the party, that's Okay at a local keg party but you don't want to be doing that this far away from home. Also not being in somewhat of control or having one not take shrooms in case their is a dilemma or BIG Problem.
