This is the way I usually do it, but I've got 2 months to go. If the dollar goes down below 1.66 to the euro (I'm gambling), then I wouldn't pay any commission or bank charge compared to using the ATM at that time. So in effect I'm betting that the dollar will drop below 1.66 by May 15.
