Went out for fish & chips, came back with a trip booked!

Post by Tall Guy »

A friend and I were talking about the upcoming smoking ban in Dam after lunch over a couple of spliffs, saying we really should go before the ban, next thing you know we've got a 2 night trip booked.

Fly By Nite - April 8-10th, just over a week away.

All the hotels are booked up for 4/20 and QD now, so it's better than nothing...it took a long time to persuade him to get the early morning flight over there instead of the evening one so we get an extra 12 hours smoking.

Hotel Cornerhouse took our booking on the phone, then emailed back saying they are fully booked  not very impressed. So the Winston it is. Bit shocked to find it's now €70 per night for a single room, it was €50 last time.

It's 17 months since my last trip, so you can be sure that I will be smoking or rolling for at least 87% of the time :D

Too bad you won't be able to make 4/20.
Will definetly be watching for a report as it will be nice and current. :D

Cheers fellas, Neldo - it was your post that put me on to the Cornerhouse, we are going to go and have a look at the place for future reference anyway as they seemed like great people on the phone. Not surprising that they are full this near to check-in, it was just really frustrating after I insisted we get a hotel booked before the flight, knowing how busy Dam gets in springtime. I've made that mistake before. Will give them another chance for sure, especially now the Winston is so pricey.

Twitch let me know if you want me to sample anything for you, I'll do my best. I want to try the chocolope from GA after hearing so much, and cheese, and...everything.

On another subject - I was given a gram+ of nice crystals yesterday. Free :D

Oh yeah, never thought of that! thanks Sly, what time do you get in on thursday? We leave about 5/6pm so let me know if you want to meet up for a quick smoke.

I've been in heavy training: smoking, walking and eating nothing but stale pizza and toasties...

Sounds good, but I can't totally guarantee being there because I'm with a mate and he may have other plans - I will do my best though, just want to be honest as I've been let down a few times on meet-ups. 80% sure.

Around 3-4ish? I'm a big bloke with a black coat, short blond hair, glasses and red eyes :D

13 hours to take-off :D

Game on. It's almost time. Have fun. Yes, try the Chocolope. And don't forget the G13 Haze from Barney's, either.

Sorry to have missed you Thursday, Tall Guy. I was there, but figured you for having a chair on Leidseplein or Nieuwmarkt. The Crayon was pretty jet lagged and weird. Calendar seems to be off on site. Today is Friday 18 April. Weed for breakfast; it's how we do it in Amsterdam.

Yeah really sorry about that Sly, 3 days vanished in about 3 minutes. We got into a big session with some guys from Chicago and it seemed rude to leave...you know how it goes. I'm not sure that I could have walked at that point! We didn't even make it to Nes to see DC. Sorry DC...in fact I didn't make it to the Magnum exhibition that I was really keen to see.

Next time Sly, I MUST get to 420 next year if not before. Hope you're having a great time - have you tried the John Sinclair from Dampkring yet? Great daytime smoke.

Yea, verily, TG, I was at the barely able to walk stage more than once during the trip. 420 is Highly Recommended as a great way to meet some bright and interesting people of like mind, but it was impossible to talk with everyone. Every good trip leaves something more to be done the next time.

Did not notice John Sinclair, but I was only in the Pink Floyd Dampkring a couple of times; never made it to 2e Kamer or the original Dampkring. The Floyd will be no more, they were doing serious renovations, right down to the original historic brick walls on Haarlemmerstraat. The shop was to be closed for a couple weeks, but I was told there would be a shuttle to the Dampkring in the Centrum available during that time.

Cheers until the next time!
