Went with 3 friends for my 40th, my 5th trip, and it was just as great as the trips before. Stayed in a great apartment (I would recommend stayamsterdam.com) Having been to the city several times before the main point of this trip was to smoke...but we did go to the Van Gogh, and a few markets. Top shops of the trip hands down were Gray Area, 2eKamer, and Dampkring, their products were all well cured and did not disappoint. Top smokes of the trip were Chocolope, BB Cheese, Gray Haze, G13 Haze, and the Shibani Hash. The Shibani hash really kicked our asses..rolled up in to perfect thin strings to add to the cone, this stuff really took it to another level... Biggest weed disappointment was the laughing buddha, last visit this was one of my favorites, this time it was flash dried, and smelled of grass. We really enjoyed the Lavender and the Burmese Kush, both had a very different yet pleasant taste. All the shops were great, except one, Anyday - they guy just lost his mind as soon as we walked in yelling about the upstairs being closed and he had limited space so if we wanted to stay we would have to make a purchase...im not one to be forced to do anything...so our business was lost and we walked out the door... perhaps he should modify his approach, I probably would have purchased, but not when you start yelling at us when we walk in the door...otherwise we didn't encounter any moody folks, did notice the americans were few and far between, but that was ok with me I see them all the time. Ate several pancakes, wok to walk, and frites. had two really great dinners that stand out; La Paella on the warmoesstraat an excellent veal and white bean stew; and the Cafe Loca in Haarlem, excellent tapas, everything that came to the table was great.
The time went way too fast and I cannot believe its over, but as long as the shops are open Ill be back..crappy conversion rate or not...i piss away enough money on other things, its worth saving up to come to AMS and piss it away there

Thats some serious smoking!!

If you ever get the time it'd be great if you could go into more details of the strains eg where had the better sour diesel? Which strains to avoid?

Thanks for the write up though :)
