Cannabis books

Post by Puffin13 »

I am constantly trying to educate myself about the cannabis culture and do so by reading as many books as I can get my hands on about weed and hemp. Have you read (or just looked at the pictures of ) any good cannabis related books? I sure would like to hear about them, from you.

I would like to see what others are reading, so I wont list all the books I have read, right away anyway 8).

Some of the terrific books I have read or own is:

The Big Book of Buds 1, 2 & 3 by Ed Rosenthal This trilogy is simply awesome! It features many different strains and their characteristics (flowering time, seed bank that carries them, effects, etc) has some very nice pics and so much more.

Another that I will mention is
The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer This great book has been around for some time now but is still one of the top books in my cannabis library. I reread it at least twice a year and gleen new info from it each time I read it.

So what are some good cannabis related books you have read? Please share. Thanks! Peace n Love.

The Cannabible series, 1, 2 & 3 are really awesome books as well. They are like coffeetable books; large in size and beautiful to look at. The photography and microphotography are very stunning. A lot of good info in this trilogy too. They compliment the Big Book of Bud series, very well. Jason King, the author, can get a bit cocky and pretentious but still very nice books. Well worth the price. Peace.

I buy and read almost any cannabis book I can get my hands on. One book that I have read over n over again and that I would recommend to anyone wanting to know more about the cannabis plant and how beneficial it is, is the book Hemp for Health: The Medicinal and Nutritional Uses of Cannabis Sativa by Chris Conrad. The book is not about smoking mj; it's about the many uses of Cannabis Sativa L. ie hemp. From this book, I was amazed at it's many uses for us humans. I have read over and over again the statement that hemp is the world's most perfect food. Also, hemp can help so many physical conditions, medicinally, that it's almost unbelievable.
So, if you want to further your knowledge, beyond smokin' it, I would strongly recommend this terrific book. Peace.

Pot Culture

Post by Puffin13 »

Another book that I would recommend is a recently released book called Pot Culture; The A-Z Guide to Stoner Language & Life by Shirley Halperin and Steve Bloom (Forward by Tommy Chong). This book covers a lot of areas of stoner culture.
From the back of the book: "For those in the know, it's a stoner bible. For novices, it's Pot 101. Either way, Pot Culture encapsulates the history, lifestyle, and language of a subculture that, with every generation, is constantly redefining itself. From exhaustive lists of stoner movies, music and television shows to detailed explanations of various stoner tools to celebrity-authored how-tos and an A-Z compendium of slang words and terms, it's the ultimate encyclopedia of pot".
This is a really fun enlightening book about us crazy stoners. It is jammed packed with fun and funny stoner stuff. Maybe a book for your cannabis library? I really enjoyed this book. :D One Love.

Im reading "An Illustrated History Of Cannabis - HIGHLIGHTS" By Carol Sherman & Andrew Smith with Erik Tanner. Its pretty cool, its got a painting of a "coffeeshop" in Cairo with people outside smoking hemp in 1838 by David Roberts, and apparently "Vincent Van Gogh painted made from cannabis", and a whle bunch of old stuff from back in the day, with some good phots/paintings from the 9th century up until modern day Amsterdam.

i read 'pot planet'

Pot Planet

its basically a travelling diary, with each chapter a new country, but focusing entrily on weed. the laws, smokes and stories from each location.

its not a particularly 'educational' book, as all the stories are down to circumstance, but its a fun read. two things which suprised me were southern england and amsterdam didnt get a good write up, compared to other places.

may not arm you with 'free the weed propaganda' but its a stoners book for stoners.

worth the £3 from hmv at least
